Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Today is the Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge and here is the sketch for this week:

After looking over the sketch for a while and knowing I needed to make a Baby card I decided the piece going across on a diagonal looked like a banner or something similar. Okay so I had something in mind so time to get busy. I went and got my new stamp set Baby Prints #125470 $27.95 wood or #125572 $21.95 clear and decided to give this stamp set a try. Here is my take on the sketch:

I decided to turn the It’s a Boy into little banners and use those to illustrate the piece going across the card on a diagonal. I love the use the Square Lattice Impressions folder to make faux baby blankets on my cards. At least that’s what I always think of when I see it used on baby cards. I used toothpicks to create the sticks for the little banners and yes I used the Double “D” Bow Maker to create the little bows on the banners. If you haven’t seen or heard about the Double “D” Bow Maker click on the picture in the right hand side bar.

Now head on over to the Stampin’ Queens blog and check out the other cards done using this sketch.

Monday, February 20, 2012

The cameraman had a very busy weekend this past weekend. We made the video for the Bow Maker and he was also busy making the Double “D” Bow Makers. Everytime we would say you got another order he would be grinning from ear to ear, he may just need to pay his brother’s to help him out with production. I took some pictures of him on Saturday making his quota for the day’s orders.
Here he is measuring the wood to make sure each bow maker is the same size, next will be the cutting out of each one. That is my husband in the background sanding them, yes we do not let Dean work alone I’m way to over protective for that.

The next step in the process is to router the edges.

Next comes the drill press and drilling all the holes, he has his own little system for this to make sure they are all done the same. He is very particular about his work; which is very good.

The final sanding and an inspection and then he signs the backside of each bow maker.

The orders from the weekend are filled and ready to be shipped. Since today is President’s Day and a government holiday no shipping today so they will all go out tomorrow. If you haven’t seen Dean’s Double “D” Bow Maker and would like to see one or purchase your very own please see this post here: http://thestampcamp.com/blog/02/17/the-reveal/

I also have a card to share with you for today as well. Yes, I did use the Double “D” Bow Maker to make the bow on my card.

This is for the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday sketch challenge. I have just joined their Design Team and can’t wait to begin doing their sketch challenges every week. Tomorrow is my official first take on their sketches as a designer so make sure to come back and check it out.

Recipe:
CS: Sweet Shop DSP, Red Glimmer, Whisper White, Early Espresso
Inks: Early Espresso, Pool Party
SS: Sweet Cake
Accessories: Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, small heart punch, small circle punch

Have a Great Day!

If you didn’t get a chance to see yesterday’s post make sure to check it out. If you have a hard time making bows or even making perfect bows every time then you will want to see check it out.

The card I have to show you today was for the Craft Project Central Sketch Challenge.
Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

This is really pretty in person. My new color combination lately has been the Concord Crush and Wisteria Wonder with Very Vanilla. The Concord Crush 1/2″ Stitched-Poly Ribbon bow on the card was made using the Double “D” Bow Maker I talked about yesterday. The stamp set I used is called My Friend #122585 $27.95 wood or #122587 $19.95 clear. I like how the Concord Crush when stamped a second time is almost the Wisteria Wonder color. All I did was ink the flowers using the Concord Crush ink and without removing the stamp just moving it a little and stamping again gave me the two toned look.

For those of you who have already ordered the Double “D” Bow Maker we will be sending them out on Tuesday due to the Holiday on Monday. We’ve been working on our Thank You cards and the video. Thank you so much! We are super excited for you to receive your new Double “D” Bow Maker.

Have a Great Day!
Glenda

I have 2 posts for you today the first one is for Craft Project Central I am one of the Designers for this month. You’re going to love this purse and four matching cards with envelopes, made with the new Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Fresh Vintage stamp Set. The new Adorning Accents embossing folders and the Adorning Accents Edgelits dies also give this project an elegant look, especially when used with the Labels Collection Framelits die. This makes a great gift and is a quick and easy class project.

This is just Gorgeous in person! If you would like to make this project or have it in one of your classes go to Craft Project Central and Subscribe to February.

The next post for today is the Frenchie / Stamp Camp Weekly Challenge! France issued the challenge for this week and it is to use the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set called Elementary Elegance and the colors to use were Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant and Very Vanilla.

Here is my take on the Challenge:

This is a 4 1/4″ X 4 1/4″ card. I think the little butterfly and the pearls are the perfect touch for this little card.

Make sure to check back tomorrow as the cameraman and I have been working on a new product. He has been very busy and tomorrow we will show you what he has been working on.

Now head on over to Frances blog and see what she did with this challenge.

Have a Great Day!

Wednesday, Febraury 15, 2012

Today is the Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge and I found this sketch to be a little difficult. I had to put my thinking cap on for this one. Here is the sketch:

When I looked at this sketch I couldn’t come up with anything until I turned it sideways then it reminded me of flags and then I thought of the Need for Speed stamp set and the winning checkered flags came to mind. So here is my Race to the Finish!

I made the black and white checkered card stock by inking up the stripes impressions folder with Black ink using the Brayer, ran it thru the Big Shot, inked up the folder again turned my card stock the other way and ran it thru the Big Shot one last time to create the faux checkered card stock. I cut this in strips and used the 1″ square punch to make the flag ends. The tin card stock was made using aluminum foil and the houndstooth impressions folder and the Big Shot. The stamp set I used was the Need for Speed; stamped the car in Black Stazon colored it in with the Real Red marker and cut it out. I popped it up on the tin looking card stock using dimensionals.

Now head on over the Stampin’ Queens blog and see the other cards done with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by,
