Today is the sketch challenge at the Red Hot Stampers; here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch:

When I looked at this sketch and was playing around with the DSP it seemed a little old fashioned. I’m not sure why it just did. I thought the scalloped edge piece looked a little plain so I thought I would go back in time to the faux bow. This was a bow we made years ago on a lot of cards. If you haven’t done this type of bow before and would like to see it done; I will do a video tutorial for you.

Recipe:
CS: Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Twitterpated DSP, Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
SS: Wacky Wishes (New Hostess exclusive stamp set)
Accessories: Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, punch, Scallop Edge punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Pearl Jewels

I’m really going to miss my Mocha Morning Specialty paper. Whenever I needed a quick and beautiful card I could always pull out my Mocha Morning paper and create a quick and elegant card. For today’s card sample I combined the Mocha Morning Specialty paper with a few new toys.

Only 2 more week’s left to purchase the retiring stamp sets and accessories that you have on your wish list. On today’s sample I used the Retiring In Colors Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade. The retiring stamp set is the Butterfly Prints and the Retiring Poppy Parade ribbon. I also used the retiring Butterfly punch to punch out my butterfly. Wow that’s a lot of retiring items! Here is the card:

Yes, I forgot to mention the sentiment is from the Retiring Sincere Salutations stamp set. This was one of my favorite sentiment stamp sets; I’m sorry to see that one go.

Here are the numbers for all the Retiring Products:
Poppy Parade ink pad #119782 $5.95

I have some new toys to play with. As a demonstrator we can preorder some things from the upcoming New catalog to make up cards and projects so we can show you all the new cool things coming out. I got my color combination from the DSP. It is Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, and So Saffron. I also used the new Itty Bitty Banners stamp set that coordinates with the Bitty Banners Framelits die. Love having more framelits. If you haven’t seen this new catalog yet; you will love it!

Today is the sketch challenge at the Stampin’ Queens and here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch:

When I saw this sketch I thought of the Fifth Avenue Floral Re-inker piece that I had laying out on my table. It would be perfect for this sketch. When I did the technique I did more than one rose planning on doing more cards with all my roses. If you want to know how to do this technique see yesterday’s post.

Recipe:
CS: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler, Daffoldil Delight, Regal Rose re-inker
SS: Petite Pairs, Fifth Avenue Floral
Accessories: White embossing powder, heat tool, Aqua Painter, Big Shot, Square Lattice impressions folder, Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder, Crimper, sponge

Today is the sketch challenge at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday. Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I’ve been wanting to do the Re-inker spread technique for a while now and this stamp set has always been my favorite for this technique. I’m really bummed to see Fifth Avenue Floral #113734 $24.95 on the retired list. It will be missed.

If you have never done the Re-inker spread technique it is very simple to do but does require some drying time. First you will need Shimmery White card stock #101910 $7.95 or watercolor card stock #122959 $4.95. I used the Shimmery White card stock because it gives the flowers a little bit of shimmer; which is very pretty. Next you will need to emboss your outline image onto the card stock using Versamark and White embossing powder. After you have embossed your image you will spray it really well with water; the more puddles of water the better. Next take a few different colors of re-inkers (I used Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose) and put a drop onto your plastic stamp box. Now take an Aqua Painter #103954 $16.95 and pick up some re-inker and touch the pools of water and watch the re-inker spread. I always start with the center using the lighter colors and working my way out to the outer edges going darker in colors. If your water begins to dry just give your Aqua Painter a squeeze and let some of that water go over your stamped image. You will either want to heat set this or let it air dry. You can dab it with a paper towel or napkin to get off some of the excess water and speed the drying time.

Recipe:
CS: Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz (Retiring), Shimmery White, Twitterpated DSP
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight Re-inkers, Versamark
SS: Fifth Avenue Floral, Petite Pairs
Accessories: White Embossing powder, heat tool, Decorative Label punch, Crimper (retiring) Blossom Petals Builder punch (for the leaves on the rose), sponge, Big Shot, Polka Dotted impressions folder

Want a FREE stamp set? Place a min. $50.00 Online Order at my Stampin’ Up! website and I’ll send you an email with a list of FREE stamp sets you may choose from. I will send the stamp set to you Priority shipping. You will also be entered into a drawing to win $50.00 of FREE stampin’ Up! products of your choice. This is a 50/50 drawing when I have a name on all 50 squares on the board in my stamp room a number will be drawn if your name is on that number you will win $50.00 of FREE stampin’ Up! products of your choice. I’m very close to earning the Fiji trip so I’m pulling out all the stops. If you want the list of FREE stamp sets available before you order email me and I’ll email you the list.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you have a great day with family and friends.

Today is also the sketch challenge for the Red Hot Stampers. Here is the sketch for this week:

When I looked at this sketch I thought of the Bordering on Romance stamp set. I also decided I would make it a Mother’s Day card. So here is my take on the sketch:

I embossed the flower images using Versamark and Black embossing powder. I then painted them in with the left over Shimmer Paint I mixed up over a month ago. It was still just as good as the day I mixed it up. I store it in empty embossing powder jars which seal up tight and keep the paint perfect.

Recipe:
CS: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Versamark
SS: Bordering on Romance, Delightful Dozen
Accessories: Regal Rose Re-inker, Frost White Shimmer paint, Pearl Jewels, 1″ square punch, Butterflies embosslit, Big Shot, Polka Dot embossing folder, Certainly Celery Re-inker, Champange Mist Shimmer Paint, Heat gun, Black embosssing powder

Enjoy your day!

I had my first Bunco Night last night and we had a lot of fun! I had never played Bunco Stampin’ Up! style and it sure turned out to be a fun evening. We played 1 game and then took a break for snacks and took time to do a make and take.

Here is the make and take everyone made:

My friend France did a video tutorial on this card and I thought it would make a great card for our Bunco Night.

Recipe:
CS: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Old Olive
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
SS: Fabulous Florets
Accessories: Lace Ribbon Border punch (on the Retiring list)

Have a great day!

This past Tuesday night I held my Customer Appreciation night. This was for customer’s who have attended a class or stamping event of some sort since January 1, 2012.

We had a ton of fun and lots of great food.

Here was the Make and Take that everyone made:

Everyone made this Twitterpated Fabric Purse and the Card Portfolio to match. I was thinking Mother’s Day gift when making up the Make and Take for the event. It doesn’t have to be for Mother’s Day; they could give it to someone for their birthday or a teacher gift; since school is just about done.

Here is the inside of the portfolio:

The portfolio holds 4 cards with envelopes; two in each pocket. We cut the butterflies out of the Twitterpated fabric using the Big shot and the Butterflies Die. Everyone received a package of Rhinestone jewels to make their projects and the rest to take home. They could stamp each stamp from the Perfectly Penned stamp set one on each card or make all the cards Happy Birthday.

Recipe:
CS: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
SS: Perfectly Penned
Accessories: Big Shot, Butterflies Die, brads, Boho Blossom punch, Jumbo Pearls, Blushing Bride ribbon, Rhinestone Jewels, Mulitpurpose Adhesive Sheets, Simply Scored Scoring tool

Here are the instructions for the portfolio:
Take a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 card stock and with the 11″ side across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring tool score at 5 1/2″; turn so the 8 1/2″ side is across the top of your Simply Scored Scoring tool and score at 6″.

Fold on the Score lines. Attach sticky strip to the 2 sides to create a pocket for your cards and envelopes. Decorate the front as desired. I tied the Blushing Bride ribbon around the whole portfolio and just slip it on and off like a band.

If you place Online Orders you are in my Stamp Camp Token redemption program. When you place a min. $50.00 Online Order I send you a Stamp Camp Token; receive 10 tokens and you may choose any stamp set from any or the catalogs or a Big Shot die ($49.95 or less) for FREE. It will be shipped directly to your home. This is my thank you to you for ordering with me. You will also have a nice little collection of Thank You cards from me as well.

Thank you to all my customer’s whether you live near me or far away; I appreciate every order!

Have a Great Day!
Glenda
