Today is the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crew blog.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch for this week:

When I was looking at this sketch I wanted to make it a Fall Thanksgiving card; I’ve been doing so many Christmas Cards I wanted to shake things up a bit. I also wanted to use up some of my Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP #126906 $10.95 which you can use for more than just Halloween cards and projects. I love the color combinations in this DSP pack and that is how this card got started. I like the plaid pattern paper so I decided to go with that and the colors I chose where the Pumpkin Pie, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla.

The Autumn Accents die #127812 $21.95 was laying out on my table so why not make up a gorgeous maple leaf out of pumpkin pie card stock; smooch it up and bam it with some Chocolate Chip ink. The finishing touch of spraying it with Champagne mist shimmer paint mixed with Alcohol gives it a BEAUTIFUL shimmer.

The Thanksgiving sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set #115370 $36.95 or #127802 $26.95; punched out using the Word Window punch #119857 $15.95. The little buttons are from the Brights Designer Buttons #119747 $8.95 and the Neutrals Designer Buttons#119743 $8.95.

Yes, I did add texture to the gray piece using the Argyle Folder #127750 $7.95 and the Big shot. I also used the Scallop Edge Border punch on the edge #119882 $15.95.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
