Coffee & a Card

Tuesday, November 15, 2011

I have a new flip card for this week’s Coffee and a Card class. This uses the Scallop Oval die and the Big Shot to create the different opening.

Here is the card:

I used the Lovely As a Tree stamp set and Always Artichoke Craft ink on this card. I used the Iridescent Ice embossing powder to give it sparkle. I also used the Petals a Plenty impressions folder on the Very Vanilla card stock. After running the card stock thru the Big Shot in the Petals a Plenty folder I then used the Versamark ink pad directly on the textured card stock. Then I put Iridescent Ice embossing powder on that as well and heat set. I added a pearl jewel to each scallop to give it more elegance.

Here is the inside and you can kind of see how it opens:

The top half of the scallop oval is attached to the top of the card and the bottom of the center oval is attach at the bottom of the card. This is a very cool card and I love the unique way of opening and closing it.

Sign up today for the class tomorrow. We meet every Wednesday at 10AM.

Thanks for stopping by,
Glenda

This looks very pretty Glenda. I love the way you have the gatefold opening up rather than to each side. The sparkly look of the iridescent ice really adds to the Christmas look. I will be adding this to my CASE file.

Loved you scallop oval card using Lovely As A Tree. It just sparkles. Like this style card. Made another last evening using the stamp set Beautiful Season, embossing it in Gold on a red carstock background and holly patterned paper on the sides of the card.
    Thanks for sharing.

Very nice, Glenda. I’ll try that myself. I like that glitter look. It’s very pretty and Christmasy looking.
