Race to the Finish!

Today is the Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge and I found this sketch to be a little difficult. I had to put my thinking cap on for this one. Here is the sketch:

When I looked at this sketch I couldn’t come up with anything until I turned it sideways then it reminded me of flags and then I thought of the Need for Speed stamp set and the winning checkered flags came to mind. So here is my Race to the Finish!

I made the black and white checkered card stock by inking up the stripes impressions folder with Black ink using the Brayer, ran it thru the Big Shot, inked up the folder again turned my card stock the other way and ran it thru the Big Shot one last time to create the faux checkered card stock. I cut this in strips and used the 1″ square punch to make the flag ends. The tin card stock was made using aluminum foil and the houndstooth impressions folder and the Big Shot. The stamp set I used was the Need for Speed; stamped the car in Black Stazon colored it in with the Real Red marker and cut it out. I popped it up on the tin looking card stock using dimensionals.

Now head on over the Stampin’ Queens blog and see the other cards done with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by,
Glenda
