Sail Away Gift Card Holder

Sunday, July 10, 2011

Friday was my dad’s 78th Birthday; but the family is celebrating today.  After church today we are all heading to my brother’s cottage upnorth to do a little boating and cake eating. 🙂  Nikki wanted to make the cake so she knew for sure she could have it (she has celiac disease and 27 food allegies so the food she eats has to be prepared from scratch if she doesn’t want to have a reaction).   I also went to Costco to get a backup cake and they were basically sold out!  I ended up going to Family Fare (local grocery store) and got a smaller cake.

My original thought on what to get my dad for his birthday was a gift certificate to his FAVORITE store Menards.  He usually goes there 3 times a week a think.  He drops my mom off at dialysis and then he spends his time walking around Mernards.  Thus, today’s post:

A quick and easy nautical gift card holder.  🙂  This is from the Summer Mini it is the Sail Away stamp set #123013 $9.95 this is a single stamp.  To create this quick and easy gift card holder all you need to do is cut your card stock 4 1/4″ X 11″; score at 4 1/4″ and again at 8 1/2″. You will punch a 1/2 of a 1/4″ circle out of the end that is 2 1/2″.  Run some sticky strip along both edges and fold up the 2 1/2″ flap to create a pocket for you gift card.  Decorate the front and inside and you are done.

Well I didn’t get him the gift card instead we paid for a year of high speed internet; so they can email again and we can send them pictures.  It is my Mom and Dad’s anniversary on July 23 so we thought we would bundle the gifts all in one.  🙂

Glenda, I thank you for the directions on how to make your gift card -it really is quite simple , huh? You did a great job with the DSP and the stamp. I’m sure your Dad and Mother both appreciated the gift card. 🙂
