Stampin’ Up! Bells & Boughs

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Today is the sketch challenge at the Paper Craft Crews blog.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch:

When I looked at this sketch this first thing I wanted to do was make it a 4 1/4″ X 4 1/4″ square card. Next was to choose the stamp set. I was thinking Christmas so I was looking for something that could create the little row of flowers on the left hand side of the main image. When I came across the Bells & Boughs stamp set #120831 $19.95 or #121142 $14.95 I knew I had found the right set for this sketch. The next step was decided on the DSP to use. I decided to go with the Candlight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper #126901 $12.95. The coordinating colors for this paper are Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals, Real Red and Very Vanilla. I used every color in my card. The images were stamped in Versamark and then I used the new Early Espresso embossing powder #128980 $4.75 to emboss them. LOVE IT! The Early Espresso is much more subtle than embossing the images in black; so much nicer in the Early Espresso! I colored the images with Real Red, Lucky Limeade, and Primrose Petals markers. I then cut out the Bells using the Big Shot and the Labels Collection Framelits #125598 $26.95. The ribbon is the Very Vanilla 1/2″ Seam Binding #120999 $6.95 tied using the Double D Bow Maker.

Here’s a close up of the embossed images:

I added the Pearls #125577 $4.95 to the bell to finish it off.

Remember to stop by tomorrow for the Online Techniques Class. Tomorrow’s technique is Faux Gingham. To do this technique you will need the Big Shot, the Stripes Textrued Impressions folder #123128 $7.95, a Brayer, and a classic ink pad.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

This is so pretty! I just got the Early Espresso Embossing Powder and can’t wait to try it now! Love the pearls on the bells, what an elegant touch!
