Techniques Class – Glitter Window

Thursday, December 13, 2012

Today in the Online Techniques Class we will be doing the Glitter Window Technique.

Here is the card that is done in the video:

On this card sample I used the Holiday Ornaments framelits but you do not have to use framelits to do this technique. You can also use any of the punches to create your window.

Here is a close up of the Glitter Window ornament:

Here is the video on this technique:

In the video I cut out the stamped ornament using the framelit; to make this easier I could have just left a fair amount of edge showing around the ornament and centered it in the Glitter window and glued it into place that way as well. It is way easier to center a larger piece of card stock in the window than a cut out. Duh! I just wasn’t thinking. 🙂

Here is the other card I showed you in the video with some of the NEW TOYS from the Spring Catalog coming out soon!

On this sample I used the New Ovals Collection Framelits Dies to create my window but you could use a Oval Punch as well. I then Stamped the triple layered cake (Make a Wish Spring Catalog)image thru the Oval cutout onto the piece of Whisper White that is behind the front piece with the Oval Window. I then added the ribbon and then the packaging tape and then the Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Then stuck all the layers together.

The video doesn’t show what happend after you create the window. Did you glue the image over the tape or under it? By the way, thank you for sharing wiht us so great and simple techniques and for showing them so well,
