Using Embossing Paste To Add Texture To Designer Paper

Embossing Paste

On Today’s card I used the Shimmery White Embossing Paste to add some texture to the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper.  You can change the whole look and feel to your designer series papers with just a bit of paste and different stencils.  You may have noticed this sample in the Mini catalog on page 57.   I’m not quite sure what they used for the bottom 1/2 of there card but I just used the other side of the red striped paper from above.

The Snowflake stencil is part of the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks page 9 of the mini catalog.

Embossing Paste stamping techniques

Using stencils and embossing paste is just another stamping technique that sometimes I forget all about.  Do you ever just go through the catalog looking at all the different samples and think wow they have some pretty cool stamping techniques in these catalogs?  I find myself looking at the samples differently when I’m looking for some inspiration.

You may have noticed that sparkle in the paste; so pretty!  To add some more shimmery bling I added the Opal Rounds to the centers of the snowflakes.

I also changed up the card base color to the Basic White Thick card stock.  A nice crisp white base is nice because you don’t have to add it inside the card like I do when I use colored card stock bases.
