Adventures in Yellowstone NOT

Thursday, July 29, 2010

We woke up bright and early yesterday morning and headed back to Yellowstone where we did find a campsite in Mammoth Campground in Yellowstone National Park.?? We unpacked and spent the morning just relaxing and taking in all the beauty.? After lunch the boys wanted to go swimming in the river so we took off in the motor home thru Yellowstone, only we took a new route which was straight up the mountain and no river to swim in.? After driving around the mountain for hours a big Rig (Big Motor home) with extended mirrors caught our mirror and shattered it all over Bill and on the floor.? So pull over vacuum up the glass and head to the nearest town.? No RV repair or Auto repair so we have a broken mirror which isn’t too good when you are driving a motor home.? The next big town is at least 50 miles away and no guarantee they’ll have the parts we need.? It could have been much worse someone could have gotten glass in their eyes or Bill could have gotten his arm ripped up pretty bad.? Needless to say the guy never stopped and when you are going up a mountain it is hard to stop quick or find a place to pull over.? We are still in rustic camping so no internet access other than Bill’s cell phone and I’m limited to my time and I can’t do pictures.? Just thought I’d check in and give you the 411 on what we’ve been up too.??Have a Great Day!
