Shimmered Paints

Friday, September 25, 2009

I had some play time yesterday with my Shimmer Paints and Re-inkers.? I squirted a drop of Bashful Blue re-inker onto my plastic stamp box and added a drop of Champagne Shimmer Paint, stirred it up and decided I wanted it a little lighter in color so I added a drop of White Shimmer Paint, Ah Nice!? Next I put a drop of Apricot Appeal on my box and a drop of Champagne Shimmer Paint, hmm maybe a little White here too. :)? I didn’t want to mix up too much paint because I wasn’t sure how it was going to go.?

Next I picked out a Line stamp set and embossed it on Watercolor card stock using Basic Black Craft ink and Black embossing powder.? I then took a paint brush and the ink directly from the Champagne Shimmer paint lid and painted the face and hands of my image.? Next I painted the areas I wanted to stay white with the White Shimmer Paint, then I painted in the blue and then the Apricot Appeal.? It is really pretty and shimmery in real life.

Next was to decide what to do with my image.? I like how the Top Note die when cut and then turned a 1/4 turn and cut again reminds me of a star, so thus my design.? Not too bad with only 2 tinted paint colors.? I really had a little more paint than I needed so I pulled more line image stamps and embossed them and painted them in, so I have a few cards coming up with the same color combinations. 🙂

Not your typical Christmas colors but I think pretty all the same.

I tried to get a picture of the shimmer.

Happy Stamping!

Funny cause I played with these shimmery paints with pastels, and my thought went exactly where yours went with the re-inkers.
