Last week I issued another sketch challenge to my team “Team Stamp Camp”. This time I did not specify a particular color family; just the sketch.
I’m a little late in doing my sketch as I was gone on a little vacation with the kids before our next granddaughter is born. Coming soon!
You probably are wondering what the sketch looks like; duh! Here is the sketch I gave to my team members. I found it on Pinterest so I have no idea who the artist was or if it was in a sketch challenge somewhere else. I told them they could use anything on the tag it didn’t have to be hearts.
Anyways, while looking at the sketch and trying to think of what stamp set to use I happen to think of the Come Sail Away Designer Series Papers and thought that paper pack would work perfect for the sketch.
In place of the hearts on the tag I decided to go with the Sailboat from the Sailing Home Bundle.
Since I do not have the tag punch; I had to create a tag from scratch.
My tag ended up being 2″ X 3 1/2″ in Balmy Blue card stock which I ran through my Die Cutting Machine inside the High Seas 3D embossing Folder to give it waves. It was then matted onto a piece of Night of Navy 2 1/4″ X 3 3/4″. I punched a hole in the top where I added the Night of Navy and Sahara Sand Bakers Twine.
The Sailboat was stamped using Black Memento ink and then colored in with the Night of Navy and Crumb Cake Blends. I then die cut it out with the coordinating die and popped it up on my tag.
It might be hard to see on the sketch but I also ran the Balmy Blue card stock through my die cutting machine inside the Subtle 3D embossing folder giving it just a bit of texture.
The “helm” was a die cut created from the coordinating dies as was the banner under the sentiment.
Yes, I had to finish it off with the little Trinket anchor with the Night of Navy and Sahara Sand Baker’s Twine.
