Today’s card features the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper which is on the Retired list; which ends on June 2nd by the way. Did you notice it is on SALE?
This is a different fun fold card and what is unique about this card is their is no stamping involved it is all about the Designer Paper. The Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper has some gorgeous lifelike prints in the pack that stand on their own with no stamping involved.
On the inside of the card you can see that it has a little velcro closure on the Stitched Nested die piece. I also decorated the inside Whisper White piece with a strip of the coordinating designer series paper from the front of the card.
The base of the card is Pool Party which I took from the printed paper. A So Saffron card base and Stitched Nested die piece would have been pretty with these prints as well.
Here is a better side angle so you can see how the Stitched Nested Die piece is the front flap and closure of the card.
With this type card you have to be a little particular in where you write on the inside so that it doesn’t show on the front.
Because there is no sentiment on this card it can be used for any occasion; great for a birthday, wedding, Just because or thinking of you.
Like I said before I used a little 3/8 Velcro dot to close up the card at the bottom. It is behind the Stitched Nested Die. You will find the velcro dots that I use if you click on the box at the top of my blog that says Product Offerings. You will find the link to the Velcro Dots in the list of products; just click on the link if you wish to order them.
Here are the instructions for this card:
- Cut a piece of Pool Party card stock 4 1/4″ X 8 1/2″ and score at 1 1/2″ and at 7″.
- Fold on score lines.
- Cut a piece of Whisper White card stock 4″ X 5 1/4″ and attach a piece of coordinating Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper 1 1/4″ X 4″ across the bottom.
- Cut 2 pieces of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper 1 1/4″ X 4″ and attach to the 2 front flaps.
- Using the largest Stitched Nested Die; die cut a piece of Pool Party card stock.
- Using the 2nd largest Stitched Nested Die; die cut a piece of Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. Attach to Pool Party die.
- Glue the top of the Stitched Nested Die to the top flap of your card and using the velcro dot attach the bottom of the stitched Nested Die to the bottom flap of your card.
