This week’s Try it Thursday is all about inking embossing folders and running them through your Cut & Emboss machine. The embossing folder and inking paper technique was my Technique Tuesday post for this week.
On Tuesday I explained how this was an oldie but a goodie technique. I received a few emails and comments that this was new to many of the new stampers out there. I appreciate you emailing me or commenting that you love the oldie but goodie techniques as it was new to you. I think I may bring back more oldie but goodie techniques as more and more new stampers are following my blog post. Thank You and I so appreciate your orders as well.
Enjoy the Embossing Folder and Inking Paper Technique Video:
After Tuesday’s technique I decided to pull out my Magnolia 3D Embossing Folder and give the technique a try. What do you think? I used the Bumblebee ink on the embossing folder and actually ran it though my Cut & Emboss Machine twice inking it up again after each pass through.
In the video I showed how I used the Dandelion 3D Embossing Folder and the Seaside Spray ink. Well I really liked the color combination with Crumb Cake so I did a view more versions.
This can be a really wow technique and with so many embossing folders the choices are endless.
Instead of the Polka Dot ribbon I used in the video I went with the Seaside Spray ribbon which is on the retired list and may already be sold out. Please check your wish list to see if any of the items are you list are on the retired list. You only have a few more days to get those items before they are gone for good. You can find the retired list on my Specials Page at the top of my blog.
On this one I went with the Seaside Spray card stock base and it is pretty but I do prefer the Crumb Cake card base. Which is your favorite? Wait a minute; I haven’t showed you the Crumb Cake card base one yet. Almost forgot that one; I created so many.
On this one the card stock moved inside the embossing folder when I passed it through the second time. I think it gives it a more realistic look and feel as if the wind is blowing the Dandelions. If you want a deeper or darker background you will need to do the embossing folder and inking paper technique twice through your Cut & Emboss machine.
You will notice in the shopping list that a couple more retired products are on the list. These would be the ribbons that I used on all these cards. Some of these ribbons are on Sale as well as on the retired list; check them out!
