What Can You Do With Pearlescent Paper – Emboss It
The first card is using the Pearlescent paper in it’s natural form with a little dry embossing. This paper is beautiful with it’s glossy shimmer and the 3D Seashells Embossing Folder is perfect to use with this paper. This card is just stunning in person and the Elegant Faceted Gems are the perfect accessory to go with this Pearlescent cardstock paper.
The Pearlescent paper has a yellowish tone to it so I think it goes best with Very Vanilla. I really like Early Espresso with Petal Pink and Very Vanilla; they go beautifully together.
My sentiment is from the Friends are Like Seashells stamp set and the mats are from the All That Dies and the Stylish Shapes dies.
What Can You Do With Pearlescent Paper – Color it With Blending Brushes
For this version I colored the Pearlescent paper with Coastal Cabana ink and the Blending Brush. Because the ink will smear and rub off you have to go over it a few times and wipe it off with a paper towel or tissue and it will leave it a very light shade of the color you applied.
Once the ink was dry I die cut it with the Seaside Seashells die and then placed it inside the Seashell 3D embossing folder. I then adhered it to the Early Espresso cardstock and attached it to a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock. Yes, I thought the Pearlescent paper looked more like Mint Macaron than it did coastal cabana when it was dry.
The sentiment mat is the larger Stylish Shapes die but I cut it down a bit to fit the sentiment better. I’ll show the tip during the live class. I added a few Rustic Metallic dots to the sentiment.
What can you do with Pearlescent Paper – Polished Stone Technique
For this card I did the Polished Stone technique and it works fabulous with the Pearlescent paper. I used the Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana ink refills on the Pearlescent paper with a cotton swab and alcohol. I then ran it through the Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. This gave the background some dimension and I love the look. You can’t see the sparkle in the photo but it is shimmery; love it!
The beautiful oval die and sentiment is from the Framed Florets Bundle and this card is just stunning in person.
I used the Champagne Rhinestones to accent this card.
What Can You Do With Pearlescent Paper – Heat Embossing
I did the Polished Stone technique on the background on this card as well; but did not emboss it. I like it both ways but I think it is a bit more dramatic when you emboss it. I love the texture that you get when it is embossed. What I did emboss on this card was the sprig. I stamped the sprig from the Framed Florets stamp set onto the Pearlescent paper using Versamark and then embossed it with Black embossing powder. I colored it in with the Flirty Flamingo Blends, Daffodil Delight Blends, Granny Apple Green Blends and the Old Olive Blends. I then die cut it out with the coordinating die. The Pearlescent paper gives my colored images a nice sparkle and shimmer much like you get when you use the Wink of Stella.
So yes, you can heat emboss on the Pearlescent cardstock paper.
