Today I’m going to show you how to create Five Country Birdhouse One Sheet Wonder Cards using just one sheet of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper.
I created these 5 different cards during last night’s class. I started out with two basic cards, one vertical and the second horizontal and then went into some fun fold cards that you can create with the rest of the cut pieces. What is nice about the way I cut up the 12 X 12 Country Woods Designer Series Paper is that you can create all the cards the exact same or mix and match to the cards and layouts you like best.
Let’s Take a Closer Look:
I started off with this simple vertical version which is super easy, and any crafter could create it. The longest part to assembling this card is die cutting all the little pieces for the birdhouse and coloring in the bird. I saved everyone a lot of time and watching by having this all pre-done before I did the class. You may be saying well that birdhouse looks like another piece of the Country Woods Designer Series Paper, and you would be correct. The birdhouses that have the printed paper are from last week Thursday night’s class, where I created the shaker cards. I didn’t use the cut-out houses, so I brought them into tonight’s class. The second card is just as simple as the first card except I created it horizontally. I also changed the colors for each of the birdhouses so you can decide which colors you like best. This house consists of the Real Red and Basic Gray colors. I also added a sentiment to the front, which is from the Country Birdhouse Bundle. I used the Stylish Shapes dies to die cut the banner for the sentiment piece.
After the two simple and easy cards I decided to step things up with a fun fold birthday card. This is another easy card, it just has a few more steps to make it into an easel card. This time I went with the new In Color Summer Splash for my card base and the accent pieces for the birdhouse. I also decided to go with the Smoky Slate accent color instead of the Basic Gray cardstock.
Inside of the card is the easel section with another little bird and a happy birthday greeting. There is plenty of room behind this section to write or stamp your message to the recipient.
I should also note that the flowers and the greenery are from the coordinating Country Flowers bundle. This suite of products has 2 coordinating bundles that are in the suite as well as 2 different packs of 12 X 12 Designer Series Paper.
For this card I went back to one of my favorite color combinations the Pretty in Pink with Basic Gray. The Basic Gray birdhouse on this card was embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder, to give it that wood textured effect.
The flowers on all the cards were accented with the Iridescent Pearls.
This fun fold card is a gatefold card with the front panel that covers the front fold making it appear that it is a regular card. Just a bit different way of creating a gatefold card. Inside is another little bird, which I colored with the Pretty in Pink Blends.
This was the final card of the night, which I had thought was going to be card #5 of 6 cards but didn’t figure the paper pieces correctly. Well, that’s what happens when I don’t figure out my cards ahead of time. It’s all good, I think they all turned out well.
This card is a side easel card instead of being horizontal it is a vertical easel card. The little birdhouse is created in such a way that it pops out towards you when it is latched and sitting. If you would like to see how this is done, you can catch the video down below in this blog article.
