Are you looking for quick masking methods in cardmaking? Check out today’s post using the new Online Exclusive Frosted Forest Bundle. This new bundle is perfect for your upcoming Christmas cards. I know I’m rushing summer by, but is it too early to start creating your Christmas cards? I’ve decided that this year I want to get a jump on my cards, so I don’t have to be stressed trying to get them done at the last minute. I’m a last-minute kind of gal, but I’m hoping to change that this year.
If you tuned in to my blog post on Monday, then you already know I will be featuring different masking techniques all this month. On Monday’s post I used a sticky note to mask my bouquet of flowers and today I used the 3 tree masks that are part of the Frosted Forest Bundle. This bundle has tree images for your Fall cards and Christmas Cards. You’ll be seeing the other tree mask later this month. Also, in the bundle is the stamp set and the coordinating dies.
I also brought in the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder for the background on my card. I thought this helped to make it feel more Christmasy and gave it that winter greetings feel. I also added a few of the Iridescent Pearls to the sentiment and surrounding the trees. The sentiment banner was created from the Stylish Shapes dies.
Now for the Instructions on How to Create Quick Masking Methods in Cardmaking:
Now let’s get to the actual creating part of this card. I started by placing my Mask labeled A onto a my piece of Basic White cardstock and using my blending brush and the Mossy Meadow ink I lightly blended my ink over the mask. I removed that mask and added Mask B and using the same ink went over the mask blending in the ink a bit darker. Finally I added Mask C and using the same Mossy Meadow ink blended the ink over my mask darker. I did this for both the larger tree and the smaller tree on the right-hand side. I then used my outline image stamp of the trees and stamped the detail over the top with Mossy Meadow ink.
Next, I ran it through my Cut & Emboss Machine inside the Snowflake Sky embossing folder. I then adhered it to my Mossy Meadow card base.
The smaller tree in the center was created on a separate piece of Basic White cardstock and then die cut out with the coordinating die. I then popped it up in the center of the two trees.
The sentiment was stamped with Mossy Meadow ink and die cut out with the Stylish Shapes dies and I added a strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock behind it and popped it up on the card front as shown. To finish off the card I added the pearls.
