Today’s card features the Little Elephant stamp set and punch from the Annual catalog. This set isn’t new but it is new to me.
Actually what sold me on this stamp set was the coordinating Elephant punch. The punch has the larger elephant and the smaller elephant on the punch as well as both size ears. You can see in the pictures that I popped up the ears. SO CUTE!
When I saw this stamp set and punch I knew right away that I wanted to use it to make a card for Nikki, Zach and Sophia. We already know the Sophia is going to be a BIG Sister in a few short weeks to a Baby Sister.
If you joined me on Tuesday night on my Facebook page then you saw me alter the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper using the Stampin’ Up! Blends. I showed you how I used a ruler and the Mango Melody Blend to create stripes of colors on different designer series paper.
Here is the video if you missed it:
When I saw the stripes of Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow and my added Mango Melody striped Designer Series Paper I created; I knew I was going to use it on a baby card for Nikki and her growing family. I’m not sure why that added stripe of Mango Melody was screaming baby card to me; but it was.
Do you recognize that this piece of Designer Series Paper is from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper Pack? I bet you would have never thought it could be used on a baby card. Just a minor little modification and it gives the Designer Series Paper a whole different look and feel.
See the little balloons the Momma Elephant and Baby Elephant are holding? I colored the stamp with the Petal Pink, Mango Melody and Mossy Meadow Markers. To give them a bit more definition I traced around the outside of the Balloons with the fine tip of the Markers.
You may also notice that the Whisper White background was embossed using the Subtles Embossing Folder.
I love the lace look behind the stitched circle. This was created by die cutting the Whisper White circle with the Stitched Shapes Die and then die cutting the scallop die from the Layering Circles Framelits out of a piece of Petal Pink card stock.
To finish off the card I added the 2 Pearls in the bottom right hand corner; which makes this a pretty fancy baby card. 🙂
