When I had my Occasions Mini Open House last month one of the make and takes was making a cute little pin cushion using the Stampin’ Up! fabric. Well I am not much of a sewer so I had my friend Lori VanKlompenberg who is a Manager at a Fabric store come and help out. She laughed at me because I told her I really didn’t know much about sewing but do own a sewing machine. I had my sewing machine out on the display with all the other fabric items made with Stampin’ Up! material. It is more of prop then actually used.
Well when I was playing with my Petal Cone Die #121810 $32.95 for my Big Shot club I decide to give the pouch look a try (saw this at Leadership). I decided to use the Sweet Stitches Designer Series Paper #121781 $9.95. After completing the Petal Cone Pouch I decided I would try my hand at actual sewing and make a little pin cushion with the matching Sweet Stitches Designer Fabric #121818 $9.95 and give this as a thank you to Lori for helping me out. I knew she would appreciate it because we laughed at my sewing capabilities when we were playing around with the fabrics.
I gave this to Lori last night at the downline meeting. I think she was surprised. She laughed when I said and I actually sewed the pin cushion. 🙂
This picture shows the little pin cushion I made. I used the Scallop Circle die and my Big Shot to cut the fabric for the pin cushion.
If you would like to purchase any of these products to recreate the pin cushion or the Petal Cone pouch; please go to my website HERE.
Have a GREAT day!
