Timber 3D Embossing Folder Techniques You Have To Try!

fall themed embossing folder techniques

Today I have another Fall Themed card using my Carved Wood Background embossing folder techniques. Today’s card sample uses the Timber 3D embossing folder.

Below in this blog post you will find a video on this technique that I did 4 years ago, wow how time flies!  Since the video is an older video the products in the video are retired products, but the technique is the same, just change your embossing folder, stamp set, paper etc.

You may recall that I showed you this technique on October 25, 2024 blog post featuring the Changing Leaves bundle.   I used the Changing Leaves bundle again on today’s card but changed up my embossing folder to be the Timber 3D embossing folder giving this a true Carved Woodgrain Background.

When doing these embossing folder techniques with a woodgrain embossing folder it really gives the appearance for wood planks.  The colors I used on this sample to get the wood grain colors was: Gray Granite, Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.  Remember you will get a different look each time you do this technique depending on the amount of ink you add and the ink colors.

This fall themed card uses the Changing Leaves Bundle which is perfect for embossing folder techniques.  This bundle not only has the stamps, dies, but a hybrid embossing folder ,so you can die cut and emboss the leaves and background all at the same time.

The Paper I used to die cut and emboss the leaves is from the mini catalog it is the Season of Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This paper has the gold foiling running through it, so it tied in nicely with the Gold Textured Adhesive-backed dots and the gold thread.

The card base is Pretty Peacock, which I really like with the brown and red tones, believe it or not.

To get the “faux carved wood” you just use your scoring blade to make planks in the embossed piece of cardstock.  It is super easy and each piece will look different depending on the inks you use and the amount of ink colors you use.

Here is the video I did on this embossing folder techniques from 4 years ago!  Wow, can you believe that!

The folders and stamp sets used in this video are no longer available, but the embossing folder stamping techniques are still doable with folders, stamp sets, and supplies you currently have on hand.  Enjoy!  Don’t you just love that the shirt I was wearing 4 years ago, I’m still wearing today!
