Question of the week “What to do with Paper Strips?” This question was asked by Patricia A. There are so many different layouts and things you can do with paper strips, and it was so hard to decide on my top 5; but I think you will enjoy them.
You will notice things are a bit different here at the Stamp Camp. If you read yesterday’s blog post or Newsletter, then you already know about the changes coming. I’m beginning the week off with the Question of the week, which you can watch the video on or join my LIVE on Thursday night at 8:00PM EST on my YouTube Channel; The Stamp Camp.
Want to know something else? You can download the Project Sheet found below in this blog post and join me on Thursday night and make these cards right along with me or change up the papers and stamp sets to those you have on hand. If you don’t want to create along with me, you can just watch and if needed go back to the replay video at a later date and time.
What to do with paper Strips – Happiness Abounds Birthday Cards
This first classic card layout uses paper strips like banners. This is a super simple layout that can be embossed or not. The gorgeous Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper makes some beautiful birthday cards or wedding cards. You can make your strips the same width and length or for a variation change them up. You can create this same layout with different papers and stamp sets; on Thursday I will recreate this card but will show you samples of other papers and stamp sets.
What to do with Paper Strips – Joyful Wishes Christmas Cards
Let’s create beautiful Christmas Cards with the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper Strips combined with the Joyful Flurry stamp set and the Wonderful Snowflakes. This is a simple pattern that you can create with the paper strips from any designer paper or even use plain cardstock. You may remember this layout from my paper scraps class using the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper; you can view it HERE.
To get those beautiful banner ends I used the Banners Pick a Punch; but you can get the same results with a scissors. I’ll show you that tip during the Live Event this Thursday night at 8:00PM EST on my YouTube Channel.
What To Do With Paper Strips – Hello Harvest Fall Themed Cards
How about using your Paper Strips on the diagonal for a different pattern. You could fill in the whole front panel with strips on the diagonal or only halfway like I did on this card. When you only fill in the front panel halfway you get more of a focal point in the corner to add a stamped image or die cut like I did for these Hello Harvest Fall Themed cards.
What To Do With Paper Strips – He’s The Man Birthday Cards
When I was thinking about this question and trying to decide which paper pack to use I decided to use a variety so you get the idea that these layouts can be used for a multiple of occasions. So what I’m saying is use the paper packs you have on hand with the stamp sets that fit the occasion you are needing your cards for.
We all need masculine cards from time to time and I just love the He’s the Man Designer Series Paper for just those cards. It not only has great masculine prints in the pack but 2 sheets of die cuts that you can punch out and use on your cards like I did with this card. The vintage Van was a die cut from the paper pack. If you struggle with masculine birthday cards struggle no more with this bundle of awesome vintage prints and the He’s the Man stamp set/bundle.
Using your strips either diagonally or vertically on your card front is a great way to use up those strips.
What To Do With Paper Strips – Double Faux Ribbon Sweetest Christmas Cards
Finally, we come to Layout #5 in my Top Five Card Layouts in my series on “What can you make with Paper Strips?”
I would say of all my layouts this one looks the most technical; but trust me it is easy to make, and you’ll be using this template for so many of your upcoming occasions. Besides being a layout, this card also has a technique involved which is the faux double ribbon technique. You will get a different look depending on the colors of your strips, the amount of different designer series paper strips you use and how you lay them out. You will have fun exploring the different possibilities with the strips and this technique.
I hope I am answering your question(s) on what can you do with paper strips or better yet what can you make with paper strips?
I’ve tried to hit on every upcoming holiday or reason for sending cards when answering these questions. I have shown you Birthday cards, fall themed cards, and Christmas Cards all demonstrating different ways on, “What to do with Paper Strips”!
