A Path to Color

A path to color?  How do you find your color combinations?  Do you look thru magazines, catalogs, color challenges, Designer Series Papers?  I struggled with that very choice yesterday when I was creating my card sample for today.  I went to my room with the 411 sketch challenge for this week and was having a very difficult time coming up with my color combination.  I wanted to use the new Create a Cupcake stamp set from the upcoming Occasions mini but couldn’t get a color combination that I liked.  I then started to look thru my selection of Designer Series papers and when I came across the Celebrations DSP I knew what papers I was using as well as the stamp set.  🙂  So here is my card; sort of using the 411 sketch challenge.

So that was my path to color, sometimes you start out with something and it turns out differently than what you had planned.  In this case I started with a sketch challenge and a stamp set in mind, but ended up going in a totally different route than the one I had envisioned.
