More One Sheet Wonder Card Ideas To Blow You Away

Are you ready for more one sheet wonder card ideas? Did you tune in to last night’s class? If you missed it you can check it out in today’s blog post. I have close up photos of the cards and the video tutorial.

First I want to correct an error I made in last night’s class.  I said the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper will not be in the upcoming annual catalog and that is not correct.  It will be in the new annual catalog and you can find it on page 107, my apologies for the mistake.  The Perennial Postage stamp set will not be in the new catalog, but the Perennial Postage Dies will be in the new catalog.

Last night I showed how to create 7 cards with just one sheet of the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper.  I created 3 sets of 2 each of the same card design and layout and 1 separate card from left over pieces.

Let’s Dive in to These One Sheet Wonder Cards

First up are these Faux Envelope cards, which if you saw or read yesterday’s blog post that card was my inspiration to create my one sheet wonder cards.  That is generally how I come up with my One Sheet Wonder card ideas.  I create a fun fold card or a simple card and then think how I can turn that card into a one sheet wonder card.

These faux envelope cards may look difficult, but they are super simple and easy to make.  I think the hardest part to the card is deciding which print you want to show up on your “envelope flap” and which print you want to view on the panels on the card front.  I went with both ways so that you could see the difference and decide for yourself which way you like best.

The sentiment piece you attach to the front with dimensionals is the mechanism that holds the flap down in place.  I went with the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment which is part of the Perennial Postage stamp set and the Birthday Wishes is a new stamp set coming in the new annual catalog beginning May 1st.  This is the Simply Said stamp set found on page 19 of the new catalog.

What do you do with the Designer Series Paper that you cut off the sides to create the “envelope flap”?

Why you use them of course!  This is where things got a bit tricky for me last night, as I should have paid a bit more attention on how I was adhered the pieces to my Basic White piece.  You see the card on the right the direction of my open space was reversed so I had the happy birthday sentiment going the wrong way.  It would have been perfect in the horizontal position, but my flowers would have been sideways then.  So, after a bit of planning I ended up adding a strip of Highland Heather over the top of my mistake and then added an additional of basic white again with my stamped sentiment.

This long-scripted sentiment stamp set is called Sweetly Scripted and is only available online.  You will not find it in any of the Stampin’ Up! publications.  I mistakenly said it was in the new annual catalog, but it is only available online.  This means you are in luck because you can purchase it now!

Next up some Simple Stamped Cards:

These two cards are super simple, and you really can’t go wrong with this beautiful print. Simple cards like these are quick and easy to put together when you have gorgeous papers to work with. The hardest part about this type of card layout is deciding where to attach your sentiment piece. You don’t want to cover up any of the beautiful paper but want to add something else to the card. Maybe a smaller sentiment piece, but I think they turned out well.

The top Thank you card sentiment came from the Perennial Postage stamp set and the Thinking of You sentiment is from the upcoming new Simply Said sentiment stamp set. Both sentiment pieces were created with the Perennial Postage dies.

Final Pieces One Simply Beautiful Fun Fold Card:

This was the final card of the night featuring all the left-over pieces.  I think you would call this fold a Joy Fold.   I’m not sure where or how that name came about, but that’s what I believe it is called.

This was another one of those cards where you just aren’t sure where to add your sentiment piece.  The birthday wishes sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set and I used the Perennial Postage dies to die it out.

All the cards were blinged out with the beautiful Purple Fine Shimmer Gems, which you will find in the new annual catalog.
