Are you ready to elevate your card-making game with some clean and simple handmade cards?   Let’s Dive into this easy Faux Envelope Fun Fold Card and discover how to create a beautiful card using the vibrant Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.  From folding the base to adding decorative touches, my step-by-step PDF file will walk you through the process of crafting a clean and elegant handmade card.   That’s right I have the PDF file for this card down below in this blog post.

This is also a little sneak peek of one of the cards I’ll be creating tomorrow night during my One Sheet Wonder Class.  Join me live at 8:00PM EST on my YouTube Channel “The Stamp Camp” to see in person how these faux envelope cards are made.  Plus, see what other cards I have in store for you, using just one sheet of the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper.

Materials Needed

To begin creating your Faux Envelope Fun Fold Card, gather the following materials: a piece of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper, coordinating cardstock for the base, scissors, adhesive, a bone folder for crisp folds, and any embellishments or stamps you wish to use.   A side note for you is that this paper pack is carrying over into the New Annual Catalog.

When choosing your printed paper it is best to choose a sheet that is non-directional and has a print on the backside that coordinates to the front print and isn’t directional either.  The print I chose is directional on one side but not on the backside, tomorrow night I’ll show you how to cut your designer series paper if you have a directional piece.

In the first photo you can see how the faux envelope card comes into play as the flap tucks behind the sentiment mat securing it down like an envelope.

When you flip the “envelope” flap up you will see a gatefold fun fold card opens the way to the inside of your card.   This card consist of a card base which in this case is the Night of Navy cardstock and then the actual card is made from a piece of Basic White cardstock scored and folded and added to the card base.  You will need to add your “faux envelope” piece to the backside of the Basic White card before securing it to the card base.  Then it is just a matter of decorating the front flaps with the backside of the designer series paper and adding your punched or die cut pieces for the sentiment.

When the card is fully opened you can see what the inside looks like and how I added a strip of the coordinating Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper to the inside.

The Countryside Corners dies were used to create my sentiment pieces on the front as my closure for the envelope portion.  For the boho blue gems on my sentiment piece I used the retiring and NOW on Sale 2023-2025 In Color Dots, grab yours today!

Such a great idea. I have to watch that my cards do’t require extra postage. This card is unique but still should go for regular rate.

  2. Glenda says:

Hi Hope, Yes, I would think you could get by with regular postage; just keep the lumps and bumps to a minimum. Thanks for checking out my blog post. Happy Stamping!

Is there a reason you don’t have closed captions on your videos? Does it cost extra? I love your one sheet wonder tutorials.

  4. Glenda says:

Hi Peggy, I’m not sure how to do that. No one has ever asked me before. I’ll have to look into it. I’m not computer savvy, so it might take me a few week’s to get it all figured out.
