Create Sweet Stamping Techniques With Sale-a-bration Paper

Today I’m going to show you how to create some sweet cards using simple stamping techniques and the Free Sale-a-bration Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper.  If you recall last week, I showed you how to use the Stampin’ Blends to color the Most Adored paper and today I’m going to show you a super quick way to create this card for Father’s Day, Birthday, Thinking of You or even a Graduation card.

I paired the Most Adored paper with the FREE Sale-a-bration Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set which is the same pairings I used in last week’s One Sheet Wonder class on Thursday night.  The Most Adored Paper, with the Heartfelt Hexagon sentiment stamp set and the coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon punch pair perfectly together, wouldn’t. you agree?

What’s so special about the Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper?  Well on one side you have your typical Red, Pink, and White colors in some sort of patterns and on the other side you have a pattern with a gold foiling running through it.  On last week’s card it was a paper with flower bouquets and today it was a plaid type of pattern or that was what I was seeing.  So, what did I do?

I used the Pretty Peacock Marker to draw lines across the paper in different directions filling in wider spaces with my marker creating a plaid pattern with my marker.   The gold foiling on the paper acts like the emboss resist technique and resist the marker in those spaces.  We all love quick and easy stamping techniques, and this paper pack will surely give you lots of different techniques to try with it.

I felt like this fun plaid pattern that I created would make an awesome card with the Dad sentiment from the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set and the Heartfelt Hexagon punch works perfectly with all the sentiments in the stamp set.   I brought some more gold foil into the card with the strip underneath the Pretty Peacock strip on the card front.  Then to finish it off I added a few of the gold Festive Pearls.

To get that Pretty Peacock mat underneath the sentiment piece you just punch a scrap piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock using the Hexagon Punch and then cut it in half; you then attach half of the punched piece to the top and the other half to the bottom.  This is a super simple technique that you can with many different shaped punches.

I love how you made the Pretty Peacock stripe on the Most Adored SAB DSP. Did you use a ruler or have any tips how to fill in the stripe? I’ve shown this to several friends and they all are worried that they would make a mess of it!

  2. Glenda says:

Hi Donna, All I did was use the brush tip of the Pretty Peacock marker and a ruler; just one pass down the side of the ruler gave me the thickness I wanted. Happy Stamping!
