Resist Stamping Techniques With Designer Series Paper

Here is another quick and easy resist stamping technique you can do with the Free Sale-a-bration Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper. This time I used a Blending Brush and the ink pad to achieve the resist technique on the embossed gold splattered background.    Maybe it is just me, but when I saw this print I knew right away that I wanted to use the Playing in the Rain stamp set because the printed paper looking like Rain splattering down.  Okay, it is a heavy rain that’s for sure, but the fox seems to be enjoying it.

This technique is super quick as all you have to do is ink up your blending brush and then just brush over the designer series paper.  The ink will resist where ever the gold embossed streaks are.  If you want your ink heavier in sections just add more ink or lighter add less ink.  I think the mix of light and dark ink on the paper gives it more of a storm effect, since I was going for the look of it raining.

I chose the little fox image because he was holding the umbrella and to me whistling as he goes along.  I had to color his little rain gear in Daffodil Delight as to me that is traditional rain gear colors.  I then die cut him out using the coordinating dies and popped him up onto a Boho Blue square that was die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies.

I also added a piece of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to the backside of my print to bring out a bit more of the gold.  I used my usually tip before attaching the “rain” print and die cut out the center of the distressed gold with a couple of framelit dies to use on future projects.  Why waste the center of this beautiful paper that no one will ever see.  This is a great way to stretch your paper and your budget.

I used the Thinking of You sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set on this card because to me it looked like the fox was whistling and thinking of someone special.  Thinking of you cards does not have to be used when someone is ill or in the hospital you can send it to someone to let them know you always have them on your mind and in your heart.

To finish off this card I added a strip of the Distressed Gold to the backside of my sentiment banner and then added a few of the gold festive pearls.
