Last night was the last night I will be using the Flowering Zinnia’s Designer Series Paper to create my one sheet wonder cards for this month.  This paper pack is part of my Stamp Camp at Home Card Club Kit for this month, and you have until May 22 to subscribe and get this month’s kit.  You are sure to love the fun fold cards in the kit and all the EXTRA PDF files you receive for being a club member.   If you would like to know more about my club or subscribe you will find all the information HERE.

During last night’s class I created 2 different pocket cards and with the left-over pieces I created 2 bonus cards.  These cards were created on the spot with the help of those watching.

Easy Fun Fold Cards To Make With Designer Series Paper – Pocket Cards

These are the two pocket cards created with most of the designer series paper. Each pocket card needs a piece of designer series paper that is 5 1/4″ X 12″ and then it is scored and cut to create the pockets. The additional strips of designer series paper used on the front and inside pockets came from the left-over strip of 12 X 12 paper.

Below is the inside showcasing the pocket for the birthday card on the left.

The front of this card is like a regular card front and you can decorate it as desired. I added my left-over paper strip across the front and added the sentiment pieces on angles instead of perfectly centered. This is something I normally do not do but, I am beginning to like the look of it. On the inside “card” the slips in and out of the pocket I added a little bow tied from a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon, which is retired but club members will receive a full spool of it in their kits.

Below is the second pocket card, which has the pocket on the front and does not open.

You could add a piece of the ribbon on the inside “card” if you wanted by tying a bow like the first card or punching a hole in the top and running your ribbon through the hole, making a pull tab.

On this card I added my left-over designer series paper strip across the center again on the front but decided to add my sentiment pieces vertically and centered.

Each of these pocket cards has a 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″ card base created from a coordinating cardstock color. For the first card I used Highland Heather, and the second card was Blackberry Bliss.

Left-Over Paper Scraps

After you have cut up your designer series paper to create your pocket cards you are left with 3 angled pieces.   Now you could create three cards like the card on the left with your three angled pieces or you can create one card with one angle piece and the second card like that one on the right with two angled pieces.

The card on the right has both the front side and backside of the designer series paper and I used the coordinating Simply Zinnia bundle to create my die cut Blackberry Bliss Zinnia.  Trust me this die cut Zinnia looks way better in person than on the card.  It is not a big black blob like it shows.

The card on the left was created with just one of the angled left-over pieces and I used the Simply Zinnia bundle to create the Zinnia floral bundle.  This was stamped onto basic white cardstock using the Black Memento ink pad and then colored with the Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Lime Twist blends.  I then used the coordinating die to cut them out.

The sentiment mats for all the cards are from the Nested Essentials dies and the sentiments were from the Unbounded Love, Simply Said and Simply Zinnia stamp sets.
