Last night I demonstrated the final project in this month’s Suite of the Month Class featuring the beautiful Nature Walk Designer Series Paper. These easy one sheet wonder card ideas are perfect for creating stunning fun fold cards while also using up those leftover paper pieces we all seem to collect.
For this month’s project, I created two one sheet wonder cards along with two additional simple cards using the remaining pieces from the original cuts. If you love making the most of your designer series paper, this is such a fun and practical technique to try.
One of the things I love most about one sheet wonder cards is how versatile they are. With just a few cuts to a single sheet of designer paper, you can create multiple coordinating cards quickly and easily. It takes the guesswork out of designing while still allowing you to be creative with layouts, embellishments, and sentiments.
For my two fun fold cards, I used the exact same card design but simply flipped the designer series paper to showcase the opposite side of the print. This is such an easy way to completely change the look and feel of your card while highlighting both sides of the gorgeous paper. Sometimes it is hard to decide which side of the paper you love more, so why not use both?
These fun fold cards are simple enough for beginners but still have that “wow” factor when opened. With the score lines and folds, you end up with a nice pocket on the inside for your gift card, check, or cash, making these fun fold cards perfect for gift giving. These would also make awesome graduation cards, birthday cards, or really for any occasion.
One of the best things about combining one sheet wonder cards with fun fold cards is that you get both beauty and functionality in one project. Not only do these cards showcase the gorgeous Nature Walk Designer Series Paper, but they also create a practical pocket feature inside the card without adding a lot of extra work.
The Nature Walk Designer Series Paper worked beautifully for these one sheet wonder card ideas because the patterns coordinate so effortlessly together. Whether you prefer masculine cards, nature-inspired projects, or everyday greeting cards, this paper pack gives you so many creative possibilities.
The final two cards were created from the leftover paper strips after cutting for the two fun fold cards, proving once again why I love creating one sheet wonder cards so much. Nothing goes to waste, and even the smallest pieces can become beautiful card designs.
For the first card, I created a faux layered effect that makes it look like the designer series paper runs seamlessly across the entire card front when it is actually made from two separate pieces. The focal image on the front cleverly hides the seam, creating the illusion of one continuous pattern.
I think this card turned out absolutely gorgeous, and it is such a great example of how easy one sheet wonder card ideas can still look elegant and detailed. By strategically placing your focal point, you can stretch your designer series paper even further while still achieving a polished professional look.
To finish the design, I incorporated a few additional dies and stamps from the Nature’s Symphony Bundle. The extra layered details paired beautifully with the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper and added just the right amount of texture and dimension to the finished card.
For the final card, I used up those last four pieces of the Nature Walk Designer Series Paper and arranged them onto the card front for a simple yet striking design. To pull everything together, I added a focal die cut to the center along with a simple greeting and finished the card off with the Faux Bronze Pentagons for just a touch of shine and texture.
I love how this final design shows that even the smallest leftover pieces can become beautiful one sheet wonder cards. Sometimes the simplest layouts end up being the most elegant, especially when you let the designer series paper become the star of the project.
Each of the cards created in last night’s class turned out beautiful in their own way, and honestly, I do not think I can choose a favorite. From the interactive fun fold cards with the hidden pocket feature to the simple coordinating cards created from the leftover strips, every project showcased just how versatile these easy one sheet wonder card ideas can be.
This month’s Suite of the Month projects were the perfect combination of creative cardmaking, practical paper usage, and gorgeous coordinated designs. If you love creating fun fold cards while also stretching your designer series paper supplies, this is definitely a technique worth trying.
