Happy Easter

Sunday, April 8, 2012

A very Happy Easter to you and your families. Today following our church services my parents are coming over for dinner. They have arrived home safe and sound from Texas and Mom is doing pretty well. She does dialysis on Monday’s, Wednesday, and Friday’s and it has been going Okay. She is really tired on those days and her feet hurt pretty bad (very poor circulation in her feet due to the diabetes) but on the other day’s she’s doing pretty well.

I have 2 things to show you today. The first is a little basket I made using the new PETITE PURSE BIGZ™ L DIE
125606 $32.95 from the Summer Smooches collection.

I just cut the little flap off the top and texturized it using the Stripes Impressions folder #123128 $7.95 and the Big shot. Next I sponged it using the Chocolate Chip ink. I then added Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon to both sides making handles on the ends instead of around the top. I wanted to be able to insert my little chocolate bunny without have the handle in the way. I added a little grass and my chocolate bunny. I also made up the little tag on the front “Happy Easter” from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and punched it out using the word window punch. I matted this on the Modern label punched Chocolate Chip piece and popped it up on the front of the basket using dimensionals.

See it doesn’t have to be just for purses! 🙂

The next sample I have to show you today using the Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge for this week. Here is the sketch:

Here is my take on the sketch:

My color combination actually came from the Letters to Santa DSP #122349 $10.95. Yes you can still use this Christmas DSP with the double sides it makes it easy enough to use it on other cards not just Christmas. I loved the look of the Early Espresso lattice look with the white dots at the intersections. This gave me my color combination of White, Early Espresso and Certainly Celery. I knew I wanted to use the Daisy die for the flower on the sketch and the rest just all fell into place. The brad in the center of the daisy is also from the Summer Smooches collection it is the SUMMER SMOOCHES FABRIC DESIGNER BRADS #125589 $6.95. I had to use my Double “D” Bow Maker because I thought it needed a pretty bow. I really like how it all turned out.
