Today I have last night’s One Sheet Wonder Fun Fold Cards to share featuring the Free Sale-a-bration Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper. Let me just start out by saying it was quite a night last night. I began my class and was 23 minutes into the class when I noticed someone had said I think she is having technical issues. So, I asked if they couldn’t hear me or if they lost connection and no response; finally, I saw I had lost my connection and wasn’t even live! Oh my gosh! Where do you start? I had the cards almost finished and no one seen any of it! So, once I was really live, I bumbled my way through creating the cards again; cutting the paper and things as I went. The video is below in this blog post. Please be kind in your assessment of the video it really through me off; but I did manage to create the two cards and they actually turned out pretty well.
The Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration paper packs that you can choose with a min. $50.00 order. Sale-a-bration is almost over so if you love this paper pack don’t delay as it is while supplies last or you have until February 29 to place your order and choose this pack. The coordinating bundle is the Trusty Tools bundle from the Mini Catalog. With the purchase of the bundle, you would be able to choose the paper pack for free.
Let’s take a closer look at these One Sheet Wonder Cards:
If I would have actually been live when I pushed the button this is the card, you would have seen me create. You will get two of these fun fold cards from just one 12 X 12 Sheet of the designer series paper. I pulled the colors from the paper for my ink and cardstock pieces. The card base on all the cards is Poppy Parade and the accented colors are Crushed Curry and Copper Clay.
On my sample here I did use the Rustic Metallic Dots on both the front of the card and on the belly band. The only issue is you have to be careful when sliding on the belly band that you don’t hook one of the dots and either rip it off or tear it.
On the inside you have this cascading look or waterfall look, either way a fun way of decorating the inside of your card. I used the Happy Father’s Day sentiment from the coordinating bundle, and you might be asking isn’t that a long stamp and yours is broken up. That is correct. I have a trick on how to make long sentiment stamps into shorter ones. All you need is a sticky notepad, and you are all set. Start by covering up the words with the sticky note that you do not want ink on. Next, ink up your stamp and before stamping onto your cardstock; remove the sticky note and stamp. Clean off your stamp, cover the words you don’t want ink on with the sticky note, ink your stamp, remove the sticky note and stamp. Keep doing this until you have all your words stamped.
Last Night’s One Sheet Wonder Fun Fold Cards:
Since I did not have a full sheet of the print that I used when I thought I was live I had to go with another print from the pack. This print had the same Crushed Curry color on one side and on the other side was this Gray Granite print. I decided to make one of each of the prints to see which I liked best. I’m happy to say I really liked how they both turned out.
Another trick is to make sure that the tools are not peeking out from underneath your belly band and on the inside when your card is closed, they are not hanging off the side as well. This was a bit tricky last night and I had to cut a few more tools from the paper. I generally have everything precut so you don’t have to watch me cut out images; but when I had already used them on the 2 cards I created when I thought I was already live; I had no choice but to cut on camera.
The inside is pretty much the same as the other original card that I was supposed to be making. I did change out the sentiment to Happy Birthday as I did not need any more Father’s Day cards. This happy birthday sentiment fit perfectly on my strip of Basic White cardstock. This sentiment came from the Darling Details stamp set.
For the inside on this card, I do think I like the crushed curry side of the print better; but if you do not like bright colors than you might like this one better. Maybe if I had used the Crushed Curry for my squares instead of the Copper Clay it would have popped more. The colors I used on all the cards that I did actually live are: Crushed Curry, Gray Granite, Poppy Parade, and Copper Clay.

Here is the Long Version of the One Sheet Wonder Class:
Thanks for watching and hanging in there with me while I navigated this experience. To be honest I almost thought about not letting the video stay on my YouTube Channel and deleting it after the live class. But then I realized we all have technical issues, and I must learn to roll with it. In the end the cards turned out great and yes, the beginning was painful, but I survived.
