Let’s take a look at each of these Quick and Easy Card Sketch Ideas:
Card #1 – Just Like the Sketch
Card #1 follows this week’s simple card sketch template exactly. The card base is Shaded Spruce, cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. The two strips of Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper measure 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and are adhered to a Basic White panel measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″.
For the focal point, I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create the circle elements, and the snowflakes are die-cut directly from the DSP using the coordinating dies from the Delicate Pines Bundle—a perfect example of quick and easy card sketch ideas that beginner stampers can duplicate with confidence. To finish the card, I pulled out the touch of Cherry Cobbler found in the DSP and snowflakes by adding the coordinating Faceted Snowflakes, giving the card a beautiful pop of color and shine.
For the inside of the card, I added a Basic White panel measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. To tie the inside and outside together, a coordinating strip of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper measuring 3/4″ x 5-1/4″ was adhered along the bottom edge. This simple touch adds a cohesive look and gives even the inside of your card a beautifully finished feel.
Card #2 – A Fun Fold Twist on the Sketch
Card #2 puts a fun fold spin on this week’s quick and easy card sketch ideas, while still keeping the look very close to the original sketch. The card base is again Shaded Spruce, but this time it is cut to 5-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ and scored at 4-1/4″ to create a shorter card front and reveal a peek at the inside.
For the front, I chose another beautiful print from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper. The two DSP strips measure 1-1/4″ x 5-1/4″. The bottom strip is adhered to a Shaded Spruce layer measuring 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, which is then attached to the lower edge of the card front. This creates the perfect panel for your die-cut circles, mirroring the sketch but with a fun-fold flair.
The sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card and shows through the opening on the front—an easy and eye-catching detail that any beginner stamper can recreate. The snowflakes were die-cut directly from the DSP using the coordinating dies, giving the card beautiful texture and effortless elegance.
On the inside, I added a Basic White panel measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. To coordinate with the card front, I die cut a snowflake from the edge of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper and adhered it to the inside. With the card folded, you can now clearly see the sentiment stamped on the inside through the opening on the front—a simple but striking detail that adds an interactive touch to this fun fold design.
Card #3 – Another Fun Fold With a Center Peek-Through
Card #3 is another fun fold design that coordinates beautifully with the first two cards, yet brings its own twist. The card base is Cherry Cobbler, cut to 5-1/2″ x 7-3/4″ and scored at 1-3/4″ on each end. Fold both sides inward to create a gate-style opening across the center, which becomes the perfect spot for a peek-through focal point.
For this version, I die cut a circle from Cherry Cobbler cardstock and added several snowflake die cuts from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper to decorate the front. The sentiment is stamped on the inside of the card in Cherry Cobbler, perfectly aligned so that it shows through the center opening when the card is closed. This simple technique adds a beautiful interactive detail while staying true to the simple card sketch template inspiration for this week.
On the inside of the card, I added a Basic White panel measuring 4″ x 5-1/4″. To tie everything together, I adhered a coordinating strip of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper across the bottom edge. This simple detail finishes the inside beautifully and complements the peek-through sentiment on the card front.
