Use What You Have – or Try Something New!
Today’s fun design can be created with any Designer Series Paper you have on hand. I chose to use my featured Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper for this week’s sketch.   This cheerful and festive paper pack is part of my Stamp Camp at Home Card Club Kit for July, and it works beautifully with this tent topper fun fold!

Make It Your Own!
Let the sketch be your jumping-off point—but don’t be afraid to get creative! Change the orientation of your card from vertical to horizontal, switch up your color scheme, or play with different shapes as shown on the sketch.

Instead of sticking to a circle, square, or rectangle, why not try something a little different? For my first card, I used the Everyday Arches Dies to create the shape, which added a beautiful and unique touch.

For my horizontal version, I kept it simple by using regular cardstock and cutting the shape into a classic rectangle.  Both versions use the same sketch base, but they each have their own flair!

Today’s Easy Card Sketch Templates – A Simple Start with a Fun Fold Twist!

This week’s simple card sketch templates might look simple—and it is!—but with just a few measurement changes, you can turn it into a tent topper fun fold card.

This fun fold is an oldie but a goodie! While the card base itself is shorter than a standard card, once you attach your topper element to the card front, it becomes a full-size card. From the side, it looks just like a little tent—hence the name tent topper! Think of it as a marquee sign perched on top of your card.

Not only does this fun fold bring dimension and interest to your design, but it also gives your focal image or sentiment the spotlight it deserves. Whether you’re working with stamped images, die cuts, or fussy-cut elements from patterned paper, this style makes them pop!

Tent Topper Card Measurements & Tips
The base for my tent topper card measures 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″. This creates a square card base that’s shorter than a standard card, but once you attach your topper piece, it becomes a full A2-sized card.

You can make your “tent” as tall as you like, but here’s the important part:
Be sure the overall height of your card (including the topper) stays within 5 1/2″ so it will fit inside a standard A2 envelope.

Most tent topper cards traditionally use circles for the marquee (topper) portion—but why not switch it up? Try squares, rectangles, ovals, or even the Everyday Arches Dies, like I did! This is a great opportunity to venture outside the norm and give your card a unique twist.
