Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

When I looked at the sketch challenge for the Stampin’ Queens for this week I wanted to do something other than Christmas. So I decided to go with the You Are Loved stamp set #123777 $31.95 wood or #123779 $23.95 clear from the Holiday Mini. This is a very nice Valentine’s Day stamp set or can be used for Weddings, Anniversary’s or really any occasion. If you haven’t taken a look at this set yet; turn to page 40 in the mini and check it out. It is very nice and versatile and will be gone soon so make sure to put it on your wish list and get it soon. I also wanted to use up the rose flower printed DSP from the Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series paper pack; also from the Holiday Mini. I have tons of this particular print of DSP left so wanted to start using it and it fit very well with the You Are Loved stamp set.

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used markers to color in the roses and the leaves using Real Red marker and Wild Wasabi marker. I then used my sponge dauber and the Champagne Shimmer Paint and sponged it on the markered stamp; stamped the image on Very Vanilla and then clear embossed with clear embossing powder and the heat tool. It has a very nice sparkle and shine to it. I added a little pearl to the sentiment and finished by tying the bow out of the Victoria Crochet trim and glue dotting it in place. See not a Valentine card but a birthday card. 🙂

Now head on over to the Stampin’ Queens blog and check out the other cards done using this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by,
Glenda
