The May kit is the called, “The Best There Is” kit; which is geared for Father’s Day. But, I’m going to show you that just because this kit is geared towards Father’s Day doesn’t mean you can’t create the cards and use them for other occasions. I myself do not have my Father here anymore or my Father-in-law. I had a customer tell me she can’t use the kit for that very reason and I’m going to show you today that you can.
The above cards show how the cards are supposed to be created, but this is just a guide. You can create them exactly as shown in the directions or change them up in direction they go, sentiments you use or create different fun folds by cutting them up. There are many demonstrators out there that change all the cards in the kit and show you different ways to use the kit. I use the stamp set in the kit and show my Paper Pumpkin subscribers how they can use the stamp set and create different cards using just the stamp set. This PDF file is sent to all my subscribers at the end of the month. The PDF file contains about 8 – 10 different cards using just the stamp set from the kit.
Let’s take a look at this first grouping of cards. The card in the upper left-hand corner is the card that the kit shows you to create. I created the cards the exact same way as shown in the directions; except I changed the sentiments for the other two cards for different occasions that I would use the cards for. I don’t think these cards are strictly masculine cards but can be used for anyone and every occasion.
I also wanted to add a bit of bling to my cards so I added the new Adhesive-backed Textured Dots, these were not in the kit, but I had them on hand in my bling stash.
I created this grouping of cards just like the instructions said only changing the sentiments and adding some bling. The one in the upper left-hand corner will be the one that the kit shows.
For this grouping I decided to change the direction of the card base because my sentiment was too big to fit the hexagon die cut piece in the vertical direction. This card looks pretty horizontally or vertically. Again, the one in the upper left-hand corner is the card from the kit. This card is my favorite from the kit. I think it makes a great wedding or birthday card, wouldn’t you agree?
I think I created all 9 of these cards in an hours time. Now I have a stash of all occasion cards I can quickly grab when needed. The only thing I changed from the kit is the sentiments I used and I added the textured dots to the sentiment pieces.
