Two Stunning One Sheet Wonder Fun Fold Birthday Cards

Last night during my One Sheet Wonder class I demonstrated how to create these two stunning fun fold cards from just one sheet of the Free Sale-a-bration Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper.   If you missed the class no worries as I have the video down below in this blog post.  This card was a spin off of my Valentine’s Day card I posted on Wednesday.  After creating that card I thought I could use that same layout and measurements and make it into two birthday cards, so that is just what I did.

These cards actually have a hidden message under the belly band or maybe you could say 2 two fronts.  When you remove the belly band there is another sentiment and center piece, so your front doesn’t look so bare or plain with the band off.  But, before I get into those details let’s take a closer look at each of these two cards.

Both cards are the same the only difference is the flower bouquets that I used.  I hand cut the bouquets from the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper and then colored them with the Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Blends.  You could also leave them Pebbled Path and not color them; the choice is yours.  I think I like that pop of color, but then again all natural would be striking as well.  I might just have to make up another set of these without the coloring to really see which way I like better.

There are quite a few different bundles and dies used on these cards; probably the most I’ve ever used, but I wanted a variety of sentiments and die cuts.  I obviously used the Stippled Rose Bundle which is the coordinating bundle for the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper.  For the additional sentiment and dies I used the Everyday Details bundle and the Darling Details stamp set and then of course my favorite Stylish Shapes Dies.  A beautiful combination of products, don’t you think?

Remember that 2″ X 12″ section from my One Sheet Wonder cutting that I trimmed down to 1″ X 12″ pieces.  Well that is actually my belly band and it looks like it is matted onto that Pebbled Path cardstock strip.  This was what I was going for when designing this card.  I actually didn’t have a finished card before I went live, but had the thought process in my head, luckily it turned out this time.

The extra little piece that I cut off to create the belly band in my thought process was going to be a pocket on the inside for a gift card holder; but when I was creating these cards live, I totally forgot about that until I was taking my photos for this blog post.    I’ll have to give that a try with my next set of cards.

Here is what is revealed when you remove the belly band off the card.  The card looks like it already has a belly band and that it is a three panel card, which is the illusion you get when you fold up the designer series paper in the way I did, so you could say this is a faux 3 panel card.  The measurements for this card can be found in my blog post HERE It was the Valentine’s Day card, but you will get the same results.  The only difference is I added the additional belly band and circles with another bouquet to today’s cards, but these were scored and folded the same as my Valentine’s Day card.

Here is the inside and where I could easily add that piece I cut off from the belly band to create a pocket for a gift card to fit inside.  This sentiment for the inside came from the Everyday Details stamp set.  I love sentiment stamp sets, so I have a large variety that I use when I want to have multiple sentiments and inside messages on my cards.  Sometimes I can achieve that with a couple of stamp sets and sometimes I need a few more.

Here is the card fully extended and all the way open to reveal that gorgeous Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper print.  I also have that little 1/2″ strip that I cut off from the 5″ X 12″ piece to add some detail to my sentiment strip of Basic White cardstock.

To finish off the cards I added some bling with the Iridescent Foil Gems.
