Just like in past weeks, I’ve created a simple card sketch and shared my take on it in both vertical and horizontal layouts. I also included a fun fold card using the same sketch for added variety! While the measurements for the fun fold card differ slightly from the other two, the overall design still closely resembles the sketch—it’s just cut a bit differently for that added twist.
For the first card, I created it vertically, just as shown in the card sketch. The card base is the new In Color Timid Tiger, and the mat layer is Bubble Bath—a beautiful combination pulled directly from the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper. I used this paper to create the 1″ x 4 1/2″ strips featured on the card. This gorgeous paper pack is part of this month’s Stamp Camp at Home Card Club Kit, making it easy to recreate this look with the supplies you already have! For the sentiment piece on the first card, I used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, making quick and easy stamping projects in a flash with punches.
For the second card, I flipped the sketch horizontally and switched things up by using the Nested Essentials Dies for the sentiment tag. The card base for this version is Daffodil Delight, paired with an Old Olive mat—another color combo inspired by the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper. I added a fun touch to the sentiment tag by hand-cutting one of the glass images from the printed paper and layering it onto the tag. To finish off all my cards, I added a few Holographic Resin Dots for a bit of sparkle and dimension.
For the final card using this sketch, I created a fun fold card! When it’s closed, it looks just like the original sketch—but once you open it up, you’ll see the fun fold surprise inside. See how you can create quick and easy stamping projects from a simple sketch?
I also wanted to show how you can create a sentiment piece without needing a punch or die. Simply cut your sentiment strip from cardstock and mat it with a coordinating layer—quick, easy, and no extra tools needed!
Here are the measurements for this fun fold design:
-
Card Base (Blackberry Bliss): 4 1/4″ x 8 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″
-
Mini Card (Daffodil Delight): 3 1/2″ x 9 1/2″, scored at 4 3/4″
-
Inside Layer (Basic White): 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
I continued using the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper to accent the card, including the adorable little glasses and fruit garnishes, which I hand-cut from the paper. If you have the coordinating Cheers & Sips Bundle, you can also stamp and die cut your accessories instead for a different look.
And there you have it—three different versions of this week’s card sketch! I hope these ideas inspire you to get creative with your own projects. If you’ve been enjoying my weekly sketch series, I’d love to hear from you—your feedback helps me know whether to continue creating these for you!
