Project #1 is what started this whole one sheet wonder idea. While it could be a Christmas card, it can also be used as a gift card holder, cash holder, or even a check holder, making it extremely versatile. By simply leaving off the sentiment, this design easily becomes a birthday, wedding, or anniversary gift as well.
I love how this fun fold card wraps up like a little package, ready to be unwrapped. The simple folds of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper, combined with the belly band, create a beautiful presentation that looks special without being complicated—perfect for easy Christmas cards and gift giving.
To accent the belly band, I die cut one of the medium-sized snowflakes from the paper pack using the coordinating dies from the Delicate Pines Bundle. I then added a couple of Cherry Cobbler Faceted Snowflakes to really make the red pop from the designer series paper print.
On the inside of the unwrapped package, you’ll find plenty of room to stamp or write your message, slip in a gift card, check, or cash, and then wrap it back up just like a present. This makes it a practical yet creative option for Christmas cards and gift giving.
For the inside, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock and accented it with a few more die cuts from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper. These extra details help tie the inside of the card to the outside design, creating a cohesive and polished one sheet wonder fun fold card from start to finish.
Cards #1 and #2 use up those diagonal pieces that were cut off during Project #1. I bet you’ve never really thought about what you can do with those angled cut-off pieces, but there are actually lots of creative one sheet wonder ideas for using them on your card fronts.
For the first card, I adhered the diagonal pieces to the top portion of the card front, flipping one of the angled pieces over so you can see both sides of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper. This is a great way to stretch your paper and add visual interest to your one sheet wonder Christmas cards.
I then added a strip of Basic White cardstock across the bottom edge for the sentiment. The larger and smaller snowflakes were die cut from the paper pack. The larger snowflake was adhered to a piece of Basic White cardstock, then mounted onto a Cherry Cobbler mat, and attached to the card front in a diamond shape.
To finish off Card#1, I added a couple of small snowflakes to the sentiment strip and accented the design with a few Cherry Cobbler Faceted Snowflakes. These finishing touches really pull everything together for these easy Christmas cards created from leftover one sheet wonder pieces.
For the second card, I chose to adhere the angled pieces to a piece of Basic White cardstock, placing one piece in the upper left-hand corner and the other in the bottom right-hand corner. This layout leaves a strip of the Basic White cardstock showing through the center on a diagonal, which creates a great focal point for the design.
I stamped my sentiment on the diagonal using Cherry Cobbler ink, allowing it to follow the angle of the paper pieces. To finish the card, I die cut a few pinecones from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper and adhered them to either side of the stamped sentiment. This simple layout makes great use of the leftover one sheet wonder pieces and is perfect for creating easy Christmas cards with a polished look.
For both Cards #1 and #2, I used additional die-cut pieces from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper and adhered them to the upper left-hand corner of a piece of Basic White cardstock. This panel was then adhered to the inside of each card, adding a simple finishing touch that ties the inside of the card to the front design and completes these one sheet wonder Christmas cards beautifully.
For the last strip of my One Sheet Wonder cards, I decided to create a couple of different patchwork-style cards. For the first card, I cut the strip on the diagonal in both directions, then adhered the pieces to a panel of Basic White cardstock, flipping two of the pieces over to reveal the other side of the designer series paper print. This is a fun and creative way to show off both sides of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper.
To finish the card, I added a diamond-shaped focal layer using Cherry Cobbler and Basic White cardstock, adhering a larger snowflake die cut to the center—just like I did on Card #1. This repetition helps tie the designs together and gives these one sheet wonder Christmas cards a cohesive look.
For Card #2 using the remaining piece of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper I cut it down the center, then cut each strip once again. I adhered these “puzzle” pieces back into place on a panel of Basic White cardstock, flipping two of the pieces over to reveal the backside of the paper for added interest.
Just like the previous card, I finished the design by adding a matted focal piece and topped it with a large snowflake die cut. This simple repeat element ties the patchwork cards together and completes this set of creative one sheet wonder ideas for easy Christmas cards.
For the inside of the last two cards, I used the 1 1/2″ x 4″ leftover piece of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper. I cut this strip into two pieces measuring 3/4″ x 4″ and adhered them to a panel of Basic White cardstock. These panels were then adhered to the inside of the last two cards, using up every last bit of the one sheet wonder paper and tying the inside designs perfectly to the card fronts.
