Let’s Check Out These Creative Stamping Ideas For Beginners and Advanced Stampers

creative ideas for beginners and advanced stampers

This card follows my basic sketch layout that’s super easy to create and works beautifully for any occasion. You can customize the sentiment piece using any punched shape or die cut you have on hand. I used a die cut from the Mixed Labels Bundle, which is part of the Mixed Media Florals Suite Collection.

The card base measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″.
The three Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper strips are each 1 5/8″ x 4″.

To finish the card, I added Low-Profile Dots to accent the sentiment piece and add a touch of dimension.

For this version, I used the same size paper strips but turned the card vertically instead of horizontally, creating a fresh twist on the original layout. The result is a simple yet elegant Black and White card, perfect for a Sympathy card.

In addition to the Low-Profile Dots, I added a delicate bow using the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack for a soft finishing touch. The patterned paper featured here is also from the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper pack.

Can you believe this is the same printed paper as the last card? For this colorful and simply stunning version, I used Stampin’ Blends to bring the floral design to life. The colors I used are:
Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Poppy Parade, and Petal Pink.

The sentiment is from the Mixed Labels Bundle, heat embossed with Versamark Ink and White Embossing Powder for a crisp, elegant finish. I tied everything together with the Petal Pink Scalloped Ribbon, which adds a soft feminine touch—it’s currently on the Last Chance List for just $10.80!

To highlight the Petal Pink even more, I added Pink Low-Profile Dots, which coordinate beautifully with the ribbon and the colored florals.

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock along with another strip of the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper—colored to coordinate perfectly with the card front. This simple touch brings the design full circle and adds a beautiful finishing detail.

And finally—whether you’re a beginner or an advanced stamper—you’ll love the fun fold version of today’s card sketch! It’s a creative twist that adds dimension and interest while still being easy to recreate.

card sketches with a fun fold card twist

At first glance, this card may look simple—but look again! The fun fold is all in the card base, while the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper strips remain the same as the original sketch.

To create this fun fold version:

  • Card base: Cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″, then score at 1 7/8″ and 7 3/8″.

  • Designer Series Paper strips: Use three strips measuring 1 5/8″ x 4″—just like the original layout.

Assembly tip:

  • Adhere two strips to the left panel, spacing them evenly.

  • Adhere one strip to the right panel—this creates a fun “double-door” effect!

Here’s how the card looks when it’s fully open:
The sentiment tab slightly overlaps both the left and right panels of the card, creating a cohesive and interactive element that brings the design together beautifully.

Inside the card, I added an additional piece of Basic White cardstock along with a strip of the Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper—mirroring the front design. This gives you plenty of space to stamp a sentiment or write a heartfelt message, while keeping the card beautifully coordinated from front to inside.
