Did you catch my Thursday night One Sheet Wonder Class featuring Easy Creative Gift Card Holder Tutorials You Can Make From One Sheet of the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper? If you missed it, no worries at all—you can catch the replay below in this blog post.

While I was recording the video, I mentioned that it was Christmas Eve… but I clearly had my days mixed up because it was actually Christmas Day! ? I hope you were busy celebrating with family and friends, just like I was.

If you are ever in need of a quick and easy gift card holder, this project is one you’ll definitely want to add to your list of easy creative gift card holder tutorials. These designs are perfect examples of a one sheet wonder, showing just how much you can create from a single 12″ x 12″ sheet of designer series paper.

For this class, I used the Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP to create cute Christmas gift card holders, but the beauty of this design is how versatile it is. Simply choose your paper to match the occasion—birthday, wedding, thank you, baby, or holiday—and you’ll have a beautiful gift card, money, or check holder ready in no time.

Once your holder is assembled, all that’s left to do is stamp your sentiment, sign your card, and slip in the check, cash, or gift card. In just minutes, you’ll have a thoughtful, handmade gift that looks like you spent far more time creating it than you actually did.

The sample shown in the photo above is the gift card holder I created during the video, and the one shown at the top is my prototype that I made while working out the One Sheet Wonder pattern. Both of these easy creative gift card holders were cut exactly the same way—each piece of designer series paper measures 5 1/4″ x 12″, scored and folded the same, and then adhered to a coordinating piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Once the base was complete, it was simply a matter of decorating the front. For the gift card holder I created in the video, I chose Shaded Spruce and Basic White cardstock square layers, adhered in a diamond shape on the front, and topped with a larger snowflake die cut from the Elegant Pine Snowflakes Designer Series Paper.

For my prototype, I switched things up just a bit by using smaller square mats and stamping the Warmest Winter Wishes sentiment onto the square layer underneath the smaller snowflake. Even with these small changes, you can see just how versatile this one sheet wonder gift card holder tutorial is—proof that you can get multiple looks while using the same measurements and folds.

For the inside pocket, which will hold the gift card, check, or cash, I matted a piece of Basic White cardstock onto a piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock, then decorated it with half of a large snowflake die cut from the paper pack. This design still leaves you plenty of room to stamp or write your inside sentiment, making it both pretty and practical.

For my second gift card holder, I went with a slightly larger design by cutting the 12″ x 12″ designer series paper to 5 1/2″ x 12″. It was scored and folded the same way as the first holder, but this time I did not mat it onto a coordinating piece of cardstock, giving it a cleaner, simpler look.

The card shown on the bottom in the photo above is the one created during the video, and the card on the top is my prototype. Both are very similar to the first easy creative gift card holder, with the main difference being the larger size and the change in mat piece dimensions. This is another great example of how versatile a one sheet wonder gift card holder tutorial can be—small size changes can create a completely different look while using the same basic pattern.
