I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas season and enjoyed a little creative downtime. Today I’m excited to kick things off again and officially start up my weekly card sketches after my Christmas break!

Today’s design is a simple stamping for beginners card sketch that I know will become a favorite in your sketch book. If you’re a beginner stamper or someone who loves beginner-friendly card designs, this sketch is perfect for you. It’s clean, easy to follow, and designed to help you create beautiful cards without feeling overwhelmed.

This card sketch is incredibly versatile and can be used in a variety of ways depending on the supplies you have on hand. You can keep it flat and simple or take it up a notch by turning it into a fun fold—making it a great option for stampers of all skill levels. It’s exactly the kind of sketch we love to share at The Stamp Camp: flexible, creative, and stress-free.

For today’s cards, I used the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper pack. This paper is filled with stunning scenic prints, and today’s weekly card sketch really allows those designs to shine. Whether you choose landscapes, florals, or softer abstract patterns, this sketch works beautifully with a wide variety of prints.

To finish off the cards, I brought back those gorgeous Brushed Brass Butterflies—the perfect embellishment for these scenic designs. They add just the right amount of elegance and shine without overpowering the card, making them ideal for simple stamping projects.

If you’re new to stamping or looking for beginner-friendly card designs that still have a “wow” factor, this weekly sketch card is a great place to start. Grab your favorite patterned paper, a simple sentiment, and a few embellishments, and you’ll have a stack of cards ready in no time.

I’m so happy to be back crafting with you and sharing fresh card sketches each week. Let’s make this a creative and inspiring year together at The Stamp Camp!

First up, we have this beautiful scenic birthday card, perfect for anyone on your birthday list. This design really lets the Designer Series Paper do the work, making it a great example of beginner-friendly card designs using a simple sketch.

The card base is Mossy Meadow, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. The Designer Series Paper pieces are cut to (2) pieces at 3/4″ x 5 1/4″, with the center panel measuring 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″. This layout is ideal for showcasing scenic prints and works beautifully with this weekly card sketch.

I also used a new product on this card—the Banner Sayings Bundle. This bundle includes the perfect small sentiments designed to coordinate with the 3 Banner Punch, making it an excellent choice for simple stamping for beginners.

At the moment, this bundle is unfortunately sold out and is expected to be back in the warehouse the week of January 26, 2026. When you visit my website, it will show as unavailable to order; however, you can add your email address to be notified as soon as it becomes available again. This is such a great resource and reminder, so be sure to take advantage of that feature.

This card is a wonderful example of how a card sketch can be both simple and striking—perfect for beginner stampers and seasoned crafters alike.

For the inside of the card, I added a piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″, along with a coordinating strip of the Designer Series Paper. This simple addition carries the beautiful scenic print from the front to the inside of the card, tying the entire design together and giving the card a polished, finished look.

For card #2, I simply tweaked the measurements a bit while keeping the same weekly card sketch. The card base is Pretty Peacock, cut to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. This rich color pairs beautifully with the scenic prints from the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper.

The Designer Series Paper strips for this card are cut to (2) pieces at 3/4″ x 5 1/2″, with the center strip measuring 2 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. This slight change in size gives the card a fresh look while still keeping it beginner-friendly and easy to assemble.

I used the same Banner Sayings Bundle for the sentiment, but this time I added a little extra dimension by popping it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a simple way to add interest while still sticking with simple stamping for beginners.

Card #3 is a fun fold card, and once again, by simply tweaking the measurements, you’ll have a whole new version of this weekly card sketch. This is such a fun way to stretch one sketch into multiple beginner-friendly card designs.

For this card, the card base is Pecan Pie, cut to 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. To create the fun fold, cut down the score line from the top 1″ and up from the bottom 1″, then remove those two sections from the card front only. This creates the opening that reveals the inside panels.

The top and bottom scenic prints are actually placed on the inside of the card. I cut a piece of Basic White cardstock to 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and added Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper pieces measuring 1 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ to both the top and bottom of the Basic White layer.

On the front of the card, I added a 2 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ piece of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper, which lines up perfectly with the opening and keeps the design cohesive.

To finish the card, I once again used the Banner Sayings Bundle for the sentiment and popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a simple detail that adds just the right amount of depth while still keeping this fun fold approachable for any beginner stamper.

When the card is open, you’ll see the two scenic strips along with plenty of space for stamping or writing your inside message. I also added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies to the inside of the card. Since these embellishments are fairly flat, they shouldn’t cause any issues when mailing, making this card both beautiful and practical.
