Do you ever struggle with what to create or which papers to use? Well that was my issue with this week’s One Sheet Wonder cards. I spent a great deal of time trying to come up with this week’s cards. Finally after about 4 hours I came up with these 4 stunning cards; I think the time was well spent. I simply love how they turned out. I’m not sure but this might be my favorite color combination; Gray Granite, Basic White and Pretty Peacock. I say that this week but next week I might have a new favorite; we will see.
Let’s dive in and take a closer look at these beautiful One Sheet Wonder Cards:
Now I’m sure you have probably created this type of fun fold card before; correct? I believe it is called a double gate fold. There are many ways to do double gate fold cards, and this is just one of those ways. This card requires almost a 1/2 of a piece of 12 X 12 designer series paper. So, the first 2 cards I created were these double gate fold cards.
I brought in the New Nested Essentials Dies to attach to the front panel of my card and become the backdrop for my vase and plant images. Is it just me or when you look at this particular die cut piece from the Nested Essentials dies you think coffin? Maybe it is because the Halloween season is fast approaching, and I have that Bag of Bones Bundle on my brain; which by the way is not orderable at the moment but is expected to be back into the Stampin’ Up! warehouse the week of September 11. If you would like for me to contact, you when it becomes available again; let me know and I’ll put you on my list to contact. Sorry I got a little sidetracked from today’s cards, just an observation. The other die set that I brought in was the Something Fancy Dies; this die set has some awesome framelits that you can use to mat and stamp your sentiments for your card fronts or projects.
Here is a photo of the inside of the double gate fold card. It is just as pretty inside as it is outside. I added my left-over strip to the bottom of this card, but you could also use the Earthen Textures stamp set and stamp the vase and sprigs inside to bring those images from the front to the inside of your card. Don’t forget your envelopes as well. I love to receive a card in the mail with something stamped in the bottom left-hand corner. It just adds to the excitement of opening the card and seeing the beautiful card that someone created just for you! I must confess I do not do this enough and need to make a point of doing this more.
Now you can see what my next decision was after creating these first two cards using just about the entire piece of 12 X 12 Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper. These two cards required 5 1/4″ X 12″ pieces to create them; this left me with 1 1/2″ of the designer series paper to work with. I decided to cut this strip in 3/4″ X 12″ strips and created the final two cards using those strips.
Pictures do not do these cards justice. They are so pretty in person and like I said these have become favorites of mine. I’m a huge fan of teals, blues, gray and white if you saw my home, you would know that for sure. The Earthen Textures bundle is perfect for so many occasions; you will be surprised. It is NOT a flower stamp set; yes, we have lots of floral stamp sets, so this is a breath of fresh air. A great bundle that you can use for all the seasons for all the events just by changing up your color combinations. This bundle just shows, you can use vases and plants without flowers and create stunning cards.
The photo doesn’t show it very well, but I embossed the Basic White background piece with the Crosshatch Embossing Folder. This is part of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders pack that is ONLY available online. I use this particular embossing folder for a lot of my cards and projects. I think I love it because it just gives my backgrounds a little bit of texture and makes it no so blank looking or bright white looking. It is a part of a 3 pack there are 3 embossing folders in the pack; choose from flowers, hobnail-glass dots, and crosshatch designs. Now what will I come up with for next week using this beautiful printed paper pack? I guess I better get back into my Stamp Room and see what I can come up with. Will I be seeing you on Thursday night? Oh where, Oh where will this gorgeous bundle and paper pack take me? What other products will I bring to the table next week? Decisions, decisions; make sure to check in and find out!
