Four Trusty Toolbox One Sheet Wonder Cards For Your Guys

Are you looking for some card ideas for the men in your life? Check out last night’s one sheet wonder cards featuring the Free Sale-a-bration Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper. These sweet little cards come together quickly, and you can even make them into gift card holders if you like.

Do these remind you of yesterday’s Valentine’s Day cards?  Well, they should because the concept is the same.  The only difference is I used the square die from the Stylish Shapes dies instead of the circles and I actually made these a bit wider than yesterday’s cards.  Plus, yesterday’s cards wobbled, and these do not.  You could make the sentiment piece wobble, but I chose not to.  If you missed yesterday’s post, you can find it HERE.

The Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper is part of my Stamp Camp at Home Card Club kit for this month as is the Sale-a-bration Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper.  This month club members got to choose which kit they would like to receive.   If you would like to know more about my club, you can find the details HERE.

For last night’s One Sheet Wonder Cards I used the same 12 X 12 sheet of the Trusty Toolbox paper to create all 4 cards.  You will get 4 cards from just one sheet.   Each card is a bit different and a couple of them are gift card holders.  So, let’s take a look at each one up close.

This was my first card of the night, and my goal was to use the toolbox on the inside of the card to create the gift card holder.  Well, if you tuned in then you already know, that did not work.  I had to improvise the inside to create a gift card holder spot.  I also didn’t want to make all 4 cards into Father’s Day cards, so I brought in a couple of other stamp sets with birthday sentiments.  So, I created 2 birthday cards and 2 Father’s Day cards one of each occasion is a gift card holder.

This is what you see when you flip up the card front.  It reveals another sentiment, and this is where that designer series paper comes in as well, to make this a double front flap card.  The front of the card flips up and this section flips out.

When it is flipped out you can see the inside of your card with another sentiment and place to write a note and sign your card.  You can also see how I added the gift card holder section.  I added a row of the Rustic Metallic Dots to try and replicate the toolbox image.  This was the spot I was thinking to put the toolbox as the gift card holder, but my card was too narrow for the toolbox to fit.  So, this is where I improvised my plan.  That’s what happens when I wing my one sheet wonder cards.

This was card number 2 for the night, and I switched up my card base for this one and went with the Poppy Parade cardstock and a Gray Granite toolbox.  I think this is my favorite of the 4 different ones.  I’m not sure why, maybe it is that bold red that I like and red reminds me of a tool chest.  The toolbox die is part of the Trusty Tools Bundle from the Mini Catalog.  There are also dies in the bundle to die cut the tools from the designer series paper, but I hand cut them out as they do not all have dies that match.

Next up was this Basic White card with a Real Red toolbox.   For this toolbox I flipped the designer series paper over and used the backside which had this Gray Granite print which I thought went well on my red toolbox.  I then added a wrench to the front of the box as well.

This was the final card of the night, and this one is chocked full of tools and the toolbox is Basic White.  I also have a secret about those tools in the box.  These tools are from the sides of the printed paper where you only see a portion of the tools because the paper is cut.  I use all those side cut off pieces in my toolbox.  They work perfectly and you would never know that the bottom of the image is cut away.
