Free Card Sketches to Download for Quick and Easy Card Making

Free card sketches to download from the stamp camp

It’s Card Sketch #43 here at the Stamp Camp, and as always, I’m providing you with free card sketches to download for quick and easy card making.

Today’s sketch is all about something we all have — paper scraps! Instead of letting those beautiful leftovers pile up, it’s time to turn them into something special. This layout is designed to give you new uses for paper scraps while keeping your card making simple and stress-free.

For today’s cards, I chose the Beautiful Gallery 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Pack and the Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper. Both packs are perfect for this type of layout because you can mix and match patterns, colors, and even those smaller leftover strips you weren’t sure how to use.

Don’t forget to download today’s sketch and slip it into your 3-ring binder. Having your easy card sketches organized and ready to go makes it so much easier to create when inspiration strikes — especially when you’re staring at a pile of scraps wondering what to do next.

You may have noticed I recently started a new little series within my card sketches. For the next few weeks, I’ll be featuring layouts specifically designed to help you use up those paper scraps. These sketches are flexible, practical, and perfect for stretching your supplies.

Be sure to download and print this week’s sketch so you’ll have a great resource at your fingertips whenever you’re looking for inspiration or quick card ideas.

Now let’s take a closer look at today’s cards. I’ll share the measurements and details so you can jot them down on your printed sketch — or leave them off entirely.

Personally, I like to leave the measurements off my sketches so I don’t limit you with specific paper scrap sizes. The sketch simply gives you a starting point, and you can adjust based on whatever scraps you have on hand.

Let’s get creating!

For Card #1, I used the Beautiful Gallery 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Pack. This particular layout works beautifully with those scenic prints because you simply cut the designer paper apart and put it back together like a puzzle on your card front.

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for different ways to use those gorgeous scenic prints without covering them up. This is just another simple way to let the paper do the work while still following an easy card sketch.

Card Measurements:

  • Card Base (Mossy Meadow): 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″

  • Basic Beige Layer: 4″ x 5 1/4″

Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper Pieces:

Starting in the upper left-hand corner:

  • 1 7/8″ x 2 1/2″

  • 1 7/8″ x 2 1/2″

  • 1″ x 3 7/8″

  • 1 1/2″ x 3 7/8″

For the sentiment, I kept it simple and used the Happy Birthday from the Banner Sayings Bundle. A clean, simple greeting keeps the focus on those scenic pieces.

To finish the card, I added a couple of the Pressed Flower Motifs for just a little extra texture and detail.

Card #2 – Mixing & Matching Your Scraps

Card #2 follows the same measurements as Card #1, but this time I used the Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper and pulled a little piece from five different prints.

This really shows how versatile this card sketch is. You can mix and match patterns from your paper pack and create a sweet, cohesive card front without overthinking it. That’s one of the reasons I love offering free card sketches to download — they give you a guide, but still leave room for creativity.

Card Details:

  • Card Base: Pretty in Pink

  • Scrap Layer Base: Basic White cardstock

  • Designer Paper: Five different Easter Joy prints

Layering the scraps onto Basic White helps each pattern stand out while keeping everything balanced. It’s such an easy way to create a bright and cheerful design.

For the sentiment, I used one from the coordinating Easter Basket Bundle and cut the banner using the Stylish Shapes Dies.

To finish off the card front, I added a couple of the Pretty in Pink Gingham Easter Assortment pieces.

The result is a bright and beautiful Hello Spring or Easter card — and another perfect example of new uses for paper scraps with these easy card sketches.

Card #3 – Tweaking the Measurements

For Card #3, I went back to the Beautiful Gallery 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Pack, but this time I slightly changed up the measurements.

Card Details:

  • Card Base (Mossy Meadow): 4 1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″

  • Basic Beige Layer: 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″

Beautiful Gallery Designer Paper Pieces (starting upper left-hand corner):

  • 2″ x 2 1/2″

  • 1 7/8″ x 2 1/2″

  • 1″ x 4″

  • 1 1/2″ x 4″

These slightly adjusted measurements give a tighter fit on both the card base and the mat piece. The card still has the same overall look and feel as Cards #1 and #2, but it’s a nice demonstration of how you can tweak your scrap pieces and still maintain a cohesive design.

For the sentiment, I used the Banner Sayings Bundle again, and accented the card with a few of the Pressed Flower Motifs.

This is exactly why I love sharing these easy card sketches — they give you a flexible starting point that works beautifully whether you follow the measurements exactly or adjust for your scraps. It’s all about making new uses for paper scraps fun and stress-free!
