Card #1 is created exactly as the sketch shows, showcasing the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper as the star of the card. With its stunning scenic prints, this sketch is the perfect match for this paper pack, allowing the artwork to truly shine as the focal point.
As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t include measurements directly on my card sketches. That’s because I want them to be a creative launching pad—a place for you to explore your own ideas and design your own version of the card.
However, I do share the exact measurements in my blog posts. So, if you’d like to recreate the card as shown, feel free to jot them down on your sketch or revisit the blog post anytime to reference the details!
For Card #1, I used Basic Beige cardstock as my card base, which pairs beautifully with the soft tones in the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper. The scenic print was cut into three panels:
-
(2) strips measuring ¾” x 5 1/4″,
-
and (1) center panel measuring 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.
These pieces were adhered side by side to create a striking focal background. The sentiment is stamped and die cut using the Nested Essentials Dies, perfectly sized to stand out without overwhelming the scene.
Card #2 may look a lot like the original sketch, but it’s actually a fun fold card with a creative twist!
For this version, I used the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper, and the design is made up of two parts:
-
The card base is Mossy Meadow, cut to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, with two coordinating DSP strips (3/4″ x 5 1/4″) adhered along the left and right edges.
-
The center panel is 3″ x 11″, scored at 5 1/2″, then folded and adhered to the middle of the card base, creating the interactive fun fold.
-
On the front of the center panel, I added a piece of Painterly Pears DSP, cut to 2 3/4″ x 5 1/4″, to tie it all together beautifully.
This fun fold is simple but impactful, and it’s a great way to step up the basic sketch while keeping the layout recognizable.
Card #3 is another fun fold card, this time featuring the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper once again. While this fold may look more advanced, it’s actually super easy to create with the right score lines—and the results are stunning!
When folded flat, the card mirrors the original sketch layout. But once opened, the panels expand outward, allowing the gorgeous floral print to stretch across the entire front—and beyond! This creates a beautiful panoramic effect that really shows off the paper.
This card doesn’t open like a traditional top- or side-fold card, but there’s ample space on the back for writing or stamping your message.
Here are the measurements:
-
Card base: Thick Basic White, 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, scored at 1 7/8″, 3″, 5 1/2″, and 6 5/8″.
-
DSP panels:
-
Two side pieces: 1 5/8″ x 5 1/4″
-
Center panel: 2 1/4″ x 5 1/4″
-
This fold is a fun way to add movement and surprise while sticking close to the original sketch layout.
