Simple Stamping for Beginners With The Stamp Camp Card Sketches

Simple stamping for beginners with the stamp camp card sketches

Simple Stamping for Beginners With The Stamp Camp Card Sketches. This is week #4 of my card sketches and today’s sketch will help you explore the many possibilities of using one simple sketch to create 7 different cards.

This is a new series that I have started on Wednesday’s.  Every Wednesday I’ll post a new sketch that you can download and print and keep in your craft room for times when you need a quick sample to look at or just need some creative motivation.  My suggestion to you would be to purchase a 3-ring binder and some page protectors, so you can print out the sketches and start your very own sketch book.

If you missed the first Three Card Sketches you can find them:

This card follows the sketch pretty spot on the only difference is I added the Blackberry Bliss strip underneath the sentiment on the card front.  These simple stamping for beginners card sketch designs can be created repeatedly and each have a very different look.

For this card I used the Labeled with Love Punch to punch my Basic White cardstock and create my sentiment piece.  I will let you know that the Labeled with Love Punch is on the Low Inventory list, so if you don’t have it yet, I would recommend it.  I love to use punches for my sentiment pieces as it makes quick and easy cards, without having to haul out my die cut machine.

This card follows the sketch pretty close as well, but I used the To the Point Label Punch for this one.  I also created a mat using the same punch, cutting it in half, and adhering it to the backside of the basic white punched piece giving it a little edge of Garden Green cardstock showing.  I also decided to attach my sentiment punched piece off center and to the side.  These simple stamping for beginners tips are super simple to do and see how it gives your card a completely different look, even though the layout is the same.

The To The Point Label Punch is currently not available but is expected to be back into the warehouse the week of June 2nd.

For this card I changed the length of my 3 strips of the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper, so that they ran the full length of the card front.  I also changed my punch to the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, which I created a mat for by punching a piece of the Garden Green cardstock, cutting it in half, and adhering it to the backsideThis was added to the card front on top of a Garden Green strip.

For this card I used the same size strips as the other cards, except I added them to a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock and then added that to a Blackberry Bliss card front.  These strips are 1 1/4″  X 5 1/4″ and the Fresh Freesia is 4 1/8″ X 5 3/8″ and the Blackberry Bliss card base is 4 1/4″ X 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.

The strips I used on this card are 1″ X 5″ and the Blackberry Bliss mats are 1 1/4″ X 5 1/4″ and the Peach Pie card base is 4 1/4″ X 11″ scored at 5 1/2″.  For the sentiment on this card, I used a die from the Unbounded Love Bundle, to die cut my sentiment piece.

For this card I created it exactly like the last card with the smaller strips and mats.  The only difference is I used the Labeled with Love punch and pieces of cardstock to create my sentiment piece.  I combined a punched piece with rectangles of cardstock, giving this a different and interesting look.

what can you do with paper scraps and card sketches

This was the final card from my 12 X 12 piece of the Floral Impressions Designer Series Paper.  I had two strips left and cut them down to 1 1/4″ X 5″ and I had little end pieces left that were 1″ X 2″.  I adhered the two longer strips to the outside edges of the Blackberry Bliss cardstock 4″ X 5 1/4″ and I pieced the 1″ X 2″ pieces down the center.  I had 3 pieces and cut the final piece down to 1” X 1″.  You would never know I pieced that center portion in as I covered the ends with the sentiment piece.  For the sentiment on this card, I just used cardstock that I cut into rectangles.  So, if you do not have punches or a die cutting machine with framelit dies, you can still create these fun simple stamping designs with cardstock.

For all the cards I used the Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink gems, which are part of the Floral Impressions Suite of Products.  The sentiment for all the cards is from the coordinating Impressions Abloom bundle.
