Simple Stamping Techniques On Today’s Fun Fold Cards

simple stamping techniques on today's fun fold cards

On today’s fun fold cards, I have a couple of different simple stamping techniques to share with you. One of the techniques is obvious and the other you might not think of it as a technique, but I think anything out of the ordinary can be considered a technique.  Can you spot that technique?  It really is an optical illusion when you look at the photos but in person it may be a bit more obvious.  Do I have your interest peaked, keep reading.

I’m finishing off the week with another one of my fun fold cards using the “arm” mechanism and one is the Step 1 version in my 4 Step fun fold cards, that I showed in yesterday’s blog post.

Today I’m using the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! This is a gorgeous pack a paper, oh my who am I kidding I love ALL the paper packs!

You will notice on this sample and the next one that I colored the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper with the Stampin’ Blends.  I used the Petal Pink and the Granny Apple Green Blends on my tulips in this piece.  I love the peachy color with the Early Espresso background.  You can create this in any color you like but I went with the colors in the printed papers so it all coordinates beautifully.  If you love to color and find it relaxing, you will love this technique.  Get out your Blends and start coloring!

For the sentiment I used the Layering Circles dies and the Scalloped Circle die.  I then added a couple of the Rustic Metallic dots.

On this sample I added in the second technique.  Do you know what it is?  Look at the sentiment piece.  Does it look like the designer series paper has a strip of Basic White cardstock running across it?  Well, I stamped the sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock; then I attached a couple of strips of the designer series paper across it at the top and bottom and then die cut it with the circle die.  I’ve always said to mix and match your die cuts, but you can also mix up your papers and die cut them all the once as well.  The first card was pretty but just by adding those two strips of the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper it brought a whole new look to the card, don’t you think?

This card was done with the same stamping techniques as the second card shown above for the sentiment piece.  No coloring on this one; just the gorgeous Abigail Rose Designer Series prints from the pack.  This card is Step #1 in my Series of Stepped-Up cards using this same layout.  If you missed the 4 steps, you can view that blog post here.

The sentiment on these cards is from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set.  These cards were created for my team members who excelled in their businesses this year.  I had my team meeting last night and I gave out annual awards which they will be receiving in the mail from Stampin’ Up!  But I also wanted to send them a congratulations card for their achievements.   Would you like to join my team and get in on next years awards night?  Keep reading to find out about this GREAT DEAL available only until the end of October.  No strings attached; if you decide you do not wish to remain a demonstrator after getting your starter kit; simply do not order under your demonstrator ID number.  Yes, it is just that simple!
