Simple Stamping Techniques With Designer Series Paper

simple stamping techniques with designer series paper

Did you know that you can create simple stamping techniques with Designer Series Paper and just a sentiment?  If you missed last week’s one sheet wonder class, then I’ll give you another look today. This time I created the horizontal version using the Meandering Meadows papers.   I’m just going to say this again and I know you’ve heard it before; this paper pack is drop dead gorgeous with all its scenic prints!  Better yet, you get 4 sheets of each of these gorgeous prints in the pack!   You will have a hard time deciding which prints you want to use first and how to use them.  I try to make the most of keeping my scenes put together on my cards in some way and with this paper it is no exception.

My Stamp Camp Card Club Members received the entire package of Meandering Meadows Designer Series Papers in with their card kit this month along with those beautiful adhesive-backed Dragonflies and Birds.   The first batch of club kits went out in the mail yesterday and the password was sent out in an email to those club members.  Every month club members receive the password to get into the exclusive club album in my photo gallery here on my blog.  In that gallery they will find the video tutorial for the club cards, the PDF file for the cards as well as BONUS PDF files.  Every Thursday night at 8:00PM EST on my YouTube Channel “The Stamp Camp”  I have another One Sheet Wonder class using the Club Kit contents of the month.  Club members will find the Project Sheet Downloadable file in my Photo Gallery along with the One Sheet Wonder Pattern.   If you are interested in my Club you have until the 22nd of the month to subscribe, check out the details HERE.

The technique used on these gorgeous scenic cards is called the Double-Time Technique. This technique is generally done as a triple-time technique, but I didn’t want to take away the view, so I just went with the double-time technique. You can do this technique with your stamps, ink, and paper, but I went with the gorgeous designer series papers from the Meandering Meadows pack, and I think they turned out gorgeous!

To accomplish these stamping techniques, you will need some sort of framelit dies. These can really be any shape you like, but I prefer the rectangle shapes especially when you have a scenic print. I used the Deckled Rectangles on both my vertical and horizontal versions of this technique. You will find the video tutorial from last week down below in this article, showing the vertical version.

I encourage you to give this technique a try with different shapes. I’ve stamped a card front and used hexagons and even circles to die cut my print, which gives a whole different look and dimension to your cards. It’s fun to experiment with different framelits and stamped images to see what you can come up with.

The happy birthday sentiment on this card is from the coordinating Garden Meadow stamp set.  You will not find the bundle or the designer series paper for this suite of products in any of the Stampin’ Up! catalogs; these are online exclusive products and can only be found in my online store.   Click HERE to view this suite of products.  Please note: The adhesive-backed Dragonflies & Birds are not available at this time so you can NOT order the full suite, BUT you can order the Garden Meadow Bundle and the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper, and you will find those products in my shopping list below.  No worries for club members as I have you covered for all the goodies.

The sentiment was stamped, and die cut out using the Stylish Shapes dies and then the beautiful gold birds and dragonfly was added.   I chose to do my sentiment banner is basic white, but you could also do it in Very Vanilla or even the Fresh Freesia to match the card base.

Would you like to see more stamping techniques with designer series papers or even with stamped images?  There is a whole array of techniques that can be done with stamping or even quicker and easier with designer series papers.  Some people prefer to use only their own stamped images and others enjoy using the printed papers, I love both ways, but when I’m rushed for time, you can’t get a quicker and easier card then using designer series papers.  Plus, when you have gorgeous prints like these Meandering Meadows prints you can’t help but want to showcase them with different fun folds and techniques.
