Surprise Someone Today With Your Handmade Pop-Up Cards

handmade pop-up cards quick and easy to make

Surprise someone today with your handmade pop-up cards which are fun and easy card folds anyone can make.    If you joined my One Sheet Wonder class last night then you saw how these cards all came together.  No worries if you didn’t, because you will find the video tutorial down below in this article.   Last night was the last class using the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper for this month.   If you love fun interactive cards you are in for a surprise with last night’s cards.  The first two cards I created from just one sheet of designer series paper were fun fold cards and the final two cards were the left-over paper strips.

Let’s Dive in:

First up are the two handmade pop-up cards which are fun interactive cards you can make in a flash.  Once you get the fold down you will be on your way to creating some fun and easy card folds for many different occasions.  Not only are the first two cards pop-up cards but they are also book binding cards combining two fun fold cards in one.

I brought in the Paper Butterfly Accents for the front of this card, coloring it with the inks and small blending brush.

Here is where the pop-up feature comes into play.  When you open the card, the inside explodes in a pop-up of beauty with your own personal message.  You have two spots where you can write a sentiment or stamp an image on one and write or stamp your sentiment on the second piece.  I used the Painted Lavender bundle to add my little flower scene on my top spot and the bottom was left white for the sentiment or handwritten note.  The Basic White squares were created using the Stylish Shapes dies.

The second pop-up card was created the exact same way except I went with the Lost Lagoon cardstock and ink for the sentiment.  I also tied a double bow with the Basic White Twine and added a few of the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

On the inside of this one I kept to the Lost Lagoon and accented the top section with one of the Basic White Paper Butterfly Accent pieces.  The bottom Basic White square was accented with the Lost Lagoon square.

No matter who you send these handmade pop-up cards to, they are sure to be surprised by these fun interactive cards.

What to do with Left-Over Paper Strips:

Generally, when you are cutting an entire sheet of designer series paper you will always have some strips left over, so what do you do with them?  You can easily just mat them on another strip of coordinating cardstock, but last night I decided to take that ordinary paper strip and add a bit more to it.   By using the scalloped edge die from the Scalloped Contours Dies I created just a bit fancier card, wouldn’t you say?    If you do not own the Scalloped Contours Dies yet; I would recommend these to have on hand.  I have used those scalloped dies a lot and I’m sure going to miss them.  They are currently on Sale and will be gone and no longer available to order after April or while supplies last.

All the sentiments I used last night came from the Perennial Postage Stamp Set which is on the retired list, so you might just want to grab the bundle before it is gone too.
