Exploding Fun Folds Today’s Interactive Birthday Card Ideas

Are you looking for interactive birthday card ideas? Check out today’s exploding birthday cards. These fun exploding birthday cards are easy to make and better, yet you can make 4 cards from just one 12 X 12 sheet of designer series paper. Two exploding fun interactive cards and two cards made from paper strips.

These cards were created just like my Thursday night’s One Sheet Wonder cards except I changed up the designer series paper that I used.  Plus, I changed the direction of two of the cards.  Just by changing up the papers I used, and the direction of the cards makes them seem like a whole different grouping of cards; but they are created the exact same way.

For today’s four cards I used the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper.  This pack of paper, did I say PACK has 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs in the pack and the best part, it’s ON SALE!  Save 50% off this paper pack until the end of April or while supplies last!

Let’s first check out the Interactive Birthday Card Ideas:

This card was created vertical just like the cards from Thursday night.  If you missed that video you will find it below in this blog post.  The happy birthday sentiment is from the soon to be retired Go To Greetings; my favorite sentiment stamp set.  This stamp set is only available until the end of April or while supplies last.  I love all the different sentiments and the fonts in this stamp set; I will surely miss it.

These exploding birthday cards are sure to be a hit.  Who doesn’t love fun interactive birthday card ideas?  I know I sure do.  When I’m on the lookout for some one sheet wonder ideas cards like these are perfect.  The explosion portion of the card uses exactly a 6 X 6 piece of designer series paper, so you could get 4 explosion mechanisms out of just one 12 x 12 sheet if you wanted to bring in another piece of designer series paper for the front of your cards.

Both the first card and this one were created with the book binding technique, the only difference is on this card I have it opening horizontally instead of vertically.  If you have a piece of designer paper that is not directional like this piece you can create your cards to go in a horizontal direction or vertical whichever you like.  My cards on Thursday night had to all go vertically as the paper piece I used was directional.

The explosion happens the exact same way for the horizontal cards as it does the vertical cards.  I also changed up the inside as I only put the basic white square on one side of the pop-up piece instead of two sides.  You can add the additional white square if you feel like you will need more room to write or stamp a sentiment on the inside of your card.

After you have created your two pop-up explosion cards you will be left with some 2″ strips to create two simple cards.

Isn’t this Happy Birthday script on this card beautiful?  This is another one of the Happy Birthday sentiments from the Go to Greetings stamp set.  I love this script with the nice white scalloped edge and the daisies, so pretty.   The scalloped edge was created using the scalloped edge die from the Scalloped Contours Dies; which are also on SALE and on the retired list; so, grab them today if you do not already own them.  These scalloped borders will take your plain ole paper strips to the next level.

Here is the exact same layout only vertical instead of horizontal.  Sometimes I find paper prints that are non-directional much easier to work with and give you more opportunities to make some fun interactive cards.

Oh, these cards are so pretty and make me think of Spring and Summer; can’t wait!
