Today’s Saturday Share One Sheet Wonder Cards

one sheet wonder cards

Today is Saturday Share and I have some One Sheet Wonder cards to show you.  If you follow me then you know I was in Texas this past week visiting my friend and upline France Martin.   She asked Holly and I if we would go live with her on Thursday night and do a One Sheet Wonder.  Well if you are familiar with my YouTube Channel then you know I have a bunch of One Sheet Wonder videos.   I’m always up for a One Sheet Wonder challenge and I’m pretty pleased how this one turned out.  Don’t you just love some new techniques and ideas to share with stamping friends.

I normally use Designer Series Paper to create my One Sheet Wonder cards but this time we stamped a 12 X 12 piece of Basic White cardstock using the Merriest Moments stamp set.  Yes, this is a Christmas stamp set but the challenge was to choose non-Christmas colors so we could show how this stamp set could be used for any occasion really just by changing up the colors.  We each used the same stamp set and choose our own color combination.  My colors were: Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Flirty Flamingo and Basic Gray.

We used a plate to draw a circle in the center of our cardstock and then stamped around the circle.  I must say this was a bit of a challenge for me as my first try I ended up filling in the entire piece of cardstock.  So this was actually my second attempt.  Happy with my stamped image it was time to figure out how I was going to cut it up.  France had some one sheet wonder templates for us to choose from but I created my own.   I love France’s idea of drawing the cut up sketch onto a 12 x 12 Window sheet.  I’m definitely going to be making more of these templates for my stamp room.

With this one sheet wonder template I can place it on any Designer Series Paper or hand stamped paper and see how it is going to look cut up.  I bet you’ll put those window sheets on your next order; I know I am!

I did create a PDF file template of the cutting layout and you can download it HERE.  It is not to scale but you will get the idea.

You may be wondering what I did with those little 1/2″ X 4″ pieces and the 3/4″ X 4″ pieces.  I used these little strips to decorate the insides of my cards.  I had 1 piece that was completely left white so I didn’t use that piece.  If I didn’t have a strip to put inside the card I stamped one of the flower images and leaves on the inside.

Now let’s take a look at these beautiful one sheet wonder card ideas for Birthday Cards:

For these 2 cards the card base I went with is the Flirty Flamingo cardstock 4 1/4″ X 11″ and the mat under my 3 3/4″ X 5″ piece is Basic Gray 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″. I also die cut Basic Gray cardstock to get my circle mat under my sentiment. This is from the Painted Labels dies; just a fun different die to use on these cards.  The sentiment is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and was stamped in Basic Gray and then I used a retired punch to punch it out.  Those beautiful sequins are from the Adhesive Backed Sequins and Gems from the mini catalog.

This card was done the same way except this time I used Bermuda Bay cardstock 4 1/4″ X 11″ and the mat under my 3 3/4″ X 5″ piece is Basic Gray 3 7/8″ X 5 1/8″.  This time I went with the blue sequins.  It’s nice to have a pile of Birthday cards to have on hand whether for family or my downline I send out a pile of cards every month so these will come in handy.

These were the 2 center panel cards which were 4″ X 5 1/4″ and attached to a Basic Gray cardstock base 4 1/4″ X 11″.   The sentiment is the same but this time I used the double Oval punch to punch out the mat and the oval sentiment.

This is the final card and is the 2 corner pieces.  This is the only fun fold birthday card in the mix and it is a book binding card.  The card base is Bermuda Bay 4 1/4″ X 11″ scored at 4 1/2″ and at 5 1/2″ and the Basic Gray Mat is 4 1/8″ X 4″.  It was fun to see how this card came together you just never know what you are going to end up with when you stamp in the circle.
