Video Tutorial On Creating Double Step Fun Fold Cards

fun fold cards for graduation or any occasion

Graduation season is here, and it is time to create some fun fold cards for the graduates in your life or change things up and make them for any occasion you have coming up. These double step cards are quick and easy to make, and you can make them for any occasion.  I posted a red, white, and black version last week and had a few requests for a video tutorial, so I set to work this weekend and made one for you today. The video will be found below in this blog post.

In the video I created the graduation card shown and changed up a few things.  The first thing I changed was my color combinations.  I went with Night of Navy, White and Gold for this card.  I also changed up the placement of my step pieces.  On last week’s graduation card, I had the larger step section on the left and the smaller step section on the right.  I decided to switch them around in the video so you can see how easy you can change things around to your liking.

Which way is your preferred look?  Do you like the cap and gown piece to the right of the words and year of graduation or to the left of it?  I think it is just a matter of personal preference.  I like it both ways.  I can’t say one way is better than another.  I went with the different colors because of the school colors, I always try to incorporate the school colors in my graduation cards to make them more personal and meaningful to the graduate.

I had some of my Flowering Zinnia’s designer series paper sitting out on my desk and this little scrap piece was the perfect fit for another one of my double step fun fold cards.  This paper pack is part of my Stamp Camp at Home Card Club Kit this month, so it was the perfect time to show club members just another fun card they can make with supplies they probably already have on hand.

The sentiment pieces are part of the Nested Essentials dies which were also a big part of my club kits this month as well.  For the banner piece I used two of the banner dies stacking them slightly off from each other giving it the double banner look.

A beautiful card for someone just to let them know you are thinking of them or wishing them a great day.
